The Intelligence team within GPS will leverage data systems, research and analytics across Nike’s corporate services teams and industry partners to drive optimization of the real estate portfolio as well as efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery. Our intelligence and research methodologies are an integral and foundational part of our global delivery model, helping to activate GPS’s key capabilities in location, built environments, events, sport, nutrition and mobility as they come to life in all Nike Places across the globe.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
This role is a key contributor to the Research & Insights team within GPS Intelligence. You will work closely with a team of data engineers, data product managers, data analysts, and other researchers on a daily basis.
This role will help manage both internal and external partnerships and vendors related to data privacy and legal, tech solutions, data management, configuration, and access.
This role will be responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with the GPS Services team who are responsible for service solutions, global standardization, and facilities management related to four key GPS capabilities: sport, nutrition, mobility, and events.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for an exceptional Lead Data Scientist with a strong analytical background to create capabilities and provide insights that enhance how we think about physicality in a global workplace ecosystem, elevate services for users, and drive methodological innovation. This person is both a leader and collaborator able to function in a high speed and intellectually curious research environment, working within our Research and Insights team in GPS Intelligence. In this role you will transform raw data – pulled from multiple global data sources – into meaningful and actionable insights as well as generate new data tied to optimizing NIKE’s global services.
Advanced quantitative degree- (PhD preferred in Statistics, Mathematics, Quantitative Social Science, Engineering, Organizational Psychology or related field) and 2+ years of industry experience as a data scientist or equivalent combination of education, experience, or training.
Proficiency in common coding languages (Python, SQL, R).
Proficiency in survey design and survey analysis.
Experience working with communication and location network data.
Experience in natural language processing, network modeling, statistical modeling, and algorithm development.
Demonstrated expertise in using Tableau and Qualtrics for insight sharing to broad audiences.
Proven track record of working cross-functionally and critically evaluating complex data from multiple perspectives, including questioning assumptions and validity.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to develop and deliver presentations.
Comfortable owning projects end-to-end, including data ingestion, preprocessing, and cleaning, to developing, deploying predictive models, and extracting actionable insights.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
If this is you, you’ll be collaborating with cross-functional teams in a global environment. Your days and weeks will consistently look different, based on the diversity of your project portfolio. You will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative ways of analyzing and researching GPS services as well as developing evaluation measures for the vendors we leverage globally as part of our delivery model. Your workload will include analyses tied to employee and user surveying, program evaluation, metric development, and scenario modeling. This will include driving a global research program tied to Global Services and supporting team priority initiatives.
Additionally, you will effectively communicate and present findings to various internal and external audiences through data storytelling enabling action and informed decision making across the organization. As a Research & Insights team member you will champion and influence new ways of strategic thinking and visioning to create and initiate research designed to influence service delivery decisions across the globe
