Role Description

 

This role will serve as the Lead Field Director for the Institutional (BOLI, COLI, and ICOLI) markets, overseeing a team of 7 individuals that focus on specific markets and relationships. You will be responsible for influencing and participating in developing the strategic direction of the division through leadership and oversight. Success in the role requires accountability, great relationship building, strategic mindset, independence, and strong leadership. Substantial knowledge of the institutional distribution network, BOLI/COLI/ICOLI marketplace, and established relationships with distribution partners is expected and enables this individual to be effective and successful in this role. Remote Opportunity - this position requires significant travel and reports to the Head of Institutional Life.

 

Role Requirements

 

Technical Expertise:

 

  • Knowledge of corporate and bank finance and tax issues
  • Understanding of investment funds and techniques
  • Understanding of BOLI, COLI, and ICOLI markets
  • Knowledge on how to work with 3rd party independent distribution
  • Innovative thinker that can solve problems in the moment

 

Functional Knowledge:

 

  • Applies broad industry awareness to drive sales results
  • Ability to recruit, train and onboard 3rd party distribution
  • Ability to present advanced concepts to large audiences
  • Ability to develop and retain talent

 

Problem Solving:

 

  • Directs and guides the resolution of the most complex problems or strategic business challenges  
  • Covers a range of activities that require complex judgments and solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought
  • In-depth analysis with interpretive thinking is required to define problems with an appreciation for potential future developments in the market

 

Decision Making / Nature of Impact:

 

  • Has responsibility for making and driving significant decisions that impact the strategy and performance within the division
  • Has full ownership of market and projects, processes, and planning
  • Must be able to influence others regarding business and/or functional strategy decisions
  • Expected to be a regular industry presence, presenting at conferences and providing educational information about the market


Qualifications:

 

  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Series 6 or eligible to obtain within 3 months of hire
  • Series 26 or eligible to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Series 63 or eligible to obtain within 3 months of hire
  • 50-state insurance licensed or able to obtain within 6 months of hire

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:  $185,000-$225,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: Yes 

 

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
