Position Description
We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with experience in engineering support, and program planning. Duties may include:
- Providing Systems Engineering support for systems including Telemetry, Tracking & Control (TT&C), scheduling, communications, and associated systems.
- Perform engineering of system architectures, requirements analysis and decomposition, including system performance test and verification.
- Perform engineering analyses to predict and define problems, define/design actionable corrective measures, and operational implementation of SCN systems.
- Support the planning, preparation and coordination activities to transition satellite ground systems to another Government agency
- Prepare and review test plans and test reports, documentation, hardware lists, software lists, requirements and other analytical evaluation of systems’ capacities for future planning..
- Research alternative system design and performance approaches.
- Participate or lead technical meetings and government-led studies, assess technical baselines and ensure system modifications meet requirements.
Required Skills
10+ years of related experience.
- Knowledge and background with architecture, systems and subsystem requirements, systems engineering processes, and development and maintenance of CONOPS.
- Technical skills to understand and analyze system problems, define potential solutions, and conduct in-depth technical analysis, assessments and trades and explain results of technical studies in a systems engineering context.
- Understanding of different IT Security guidances and baselines, to plan migrations or transitions from one baseline to another
- Demonstrates understanding of performance and requirements analysis techniques, and acceptance testing strategies/methodologies.
- Ability to lead technical teams in identifying customer needs.
Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident and be able to pass a background investigation to obtain a security badge to enter the applicable government facility..
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, related, or equivalent.
Education
BS in physical sciences, engineering, computer science, related discipline or equivalent.
Location
This is a remote position reporting to NOAA's Silver Spring facility.
Salary
The salary range for this role is $83,000 - $239,000. This range is a good faith estimate based on similar roles across the organization. ERT uses several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the position's scope and expected duties, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
