Lead Developer

A Lead Developer is a trusted adviser and subject matter expert that is able to own any development item end-to-end, is capable of reviewing the work of other developers, and leads the technical work of team members. In this role you will act as a translation layer between business and development teams, and work with technical implementation teams to execute the approach. In this role, you will work with a team which is responsible for new development and maintenance of REST transactions written in C#. These transactions allow for insurance policy, claims, document, accounting, process, and user processing. You will also be responsible for new development and maintenance of our single page applications written using the Angular framework.
What Our Lead Developer Will Do
- Partner with R&D and Product teams to design software solutions to satisfy proposed business needs.
- Define, design, and implement technical solutions, including prototyping support, for new problem spaces and first-time development of highly sophisticated solutions or new & emerging technology.
- Participate in SDLC estimation and development processes for complex assignments.
- Provide constructive peer-review of designs, code, and artifact delivery.
- Provide leadership, coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance to team members, potentially including third-party partners.
- Develop and implement testing approaches as part of all solutions (including automation where appropriate).
- Provide in-depth technical troubleshooting, defect investigation, remediation, and root-cause analysis of items.
- Provide estimation and planning input for projects, solutions, and work items.
- Develop documentation for software solutions for targeted audiences, which may include internal and external customers.
- Prepare and present to all partners, including customers.
- Contribute to existing Insurity standards for coding and documentation (or set new standards where needed).

- Develop & Maintain Angular 10+ Framework Web Pages
- Test other developers' changes
- Write documentation for your changes
- Ability to own any development item end-to-end.
- Ability to function as a leader of change and mentor others.
- Ability to provide technical, performance guidance, and feedback to team members.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering/software or equivalent work experience.
- Recommended 10+ years of experience in software development.
- Expert in Object Oriented Programming principles in various languages.
- Reactive Web Development experience (Angular / HTML, JavaScript, CSS).
- Experience with XML/JSON and building Restful APIs.
- Strong written and oral English communication skills with an ability to facilitate meetings, present information to a variety of audiences, and explain complex/technical items in simple terms.
