Our first product was a “Solo” 401(k) for self-employed business owners and modern professionals, and we have continued on that momentum to build additional financial products and unlock tax efficient strategies across multiple asset types.

The Role

As a team we are client-focused, providing education on different tax strategies and products, building products and services to help clients execute on these strategies, and closing the loop with tax filing services and support.

For this role, we are looking for a bookkeeper who is passionate about working directly with business owners and our growing team to both service client books and help develop and grow the bookkeeping vertical for the business. This role can be either remote or in-person at our office in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Onboarding: Guide new clients through the onboarding process, setting up their accounts on our platform and ensuring a smooth transition.

  • Partner Management: Organize and lead our partner bookkeeping team, including third party bookkeeping firms, software vendors, and other partners to deliver a high quality, seamless client experience.

  • Bookkeeping and Accounting: Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including recording transactions, reconciling accounts, managing accounts payable and receivable, and preparing financial statements.

  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, answering their questions, providing updates, and resolving any issues that may arise.

  • Financial and Tax Guidance: Working with the broader Tax, Accounting & Bookkeeping team, offer proactive insights and recommendations to help clients meet their broader financial and tax goals, and develop our broader suite of tax planning and financial services products.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with our broader team, including product developers and customer success representatives, to inform our product roadmap and client service delivery strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bookkeeping Experience: Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably with a focus on small businesses.

  • Client-Facing Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.

  • Tech Savviness: Comfortable working with technology and adapting to new software platforms.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address client inquiries and resolve bookkeeping challenges.

  • Organization: Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines efficiently.

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
