At HackerRank, we help over 2,500 of the most prestigious logos across industries find, hire and upskill amazing developer talent using our SaaS-based Developer Skills Platform. We pioneered and continue to lead the developer skills market. At HackerRank, we are passionate about our mission to "Change the world to value skills over pedigree. This position is Full-Time and Remote within the United States.

The HackerRank brand experience team is hiring a designer to help us shape a brand that our customers love. From visual identity to editorial storytelling, video production to graphic design, you’ll touch and help shape the creative strategy behind everything we do — and provide the hands-on support to take our creative production to the next level. We help the market connect with the purpose and personality of HackerRank through a combination of traditional, digital, and generative material so our brand feels inviting and impactful in the day to day lives of our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Brand health: Contribute to developing our brand landscape across consumer and enterprise, social, and internal, pushing us to be bold and authentic while retaining consistency as we expand into new mediums and campaigns.
  • Growth and brand marketing strategy: Take proactive ownership of marketing materials across mediums by designing anything that helps us execute effectively. This might include a deck template or marketing site template one day, obsessing over swag quality the next, and then touching social media and ad experience.
  • Editorial Storytelling: Provide art, photo, and video direction for the work you touch and contribute thoughtfully to support others. You have a strong perspective and are comfortable sharing it through your work.
  • Practical leadership: Mentor those around you and manage freelancers/contractors as needed to ramp up our velocity and impact when needed. This is a growth-oriented position with a ton of potential to expand in reach and seniority as our brand value expands.
  • The doing of the thing: We are a hands-on team that takes pride in our craft and removes the middle man wherever possible. We develop our own sites in Webflow and have fun launching new ideas and experiments to move the ball forward

Requirements:

Tactically, as a leader in the design practice, you will help us raise and set the bar on quality and execution through your own work and your influence across the team. You take an interest in mentoring others and reinforcing brand standards proactively to multiply your impact. You think strategically and work with a high level of autonomy, happy to be scrappy and take ownership while pushing bold ideas.

We hire creators, people who like to be in the work, strong communicators and collaborators who can work with others to bring big things to the finish line, and people who take pride in what they ship. You care about shipping over anything, and measure your velocity through impact.

Finally, we are pushing the boundaries across our products and experiences. That includes our brand. You are comfortable using Webflow or are willing to learn so you can see your work through to fruition. Experience with video animation, art direction, and creative direction are a plus.

To be most successful, we believe you will have at least 8 years of experience as a brand designer, with the majority of that time spent in-house or in-agency working on technology products, in both B2B and B2C. People management experience is a plus but is not required. This role has the potential for growth into leadership.
