Purpose of Role
The Lead Automation Developer will be the technical lead of Under Armour’s Agentic Automation Development Team. This role bridges the gap between traditional development and low-code platforms, ensuring the delivery of efficient, scalable solutions that drive the business forward. The position involves leading the industry change where low-code development and API-first development overlap, and guiding a team of low-code developers through this space. The role includes both hands-on development and maturing the team's ability to build best-in-class automations.
Your Impact
- Low-Code Development Leadership: Design, develop, and deploy automation solutions using leading low-code platforms (e.g., Automation Anywhere). Establish and enforce best practices for low-code development, including version control, testing, and deployment pipelines. Leverage API-based interfaces to integrate low-code solutions with existing systems and AI-driven workflows. Utilize traditional development approaches (e.g., Python, JavaScript, SQL) when necessary.
- Team Leadership and Oversight: Coach and oversee developers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. Create a peer review and design review process to ensure products meet development standards. Act as an active participant in the delivery squad, leading through influence rather than direct authority.
- Technology Strategy and Innovation: Stay ahead of emerging trends in low-code development, AI integration, and automation technologies. Collaborate with AI and Automation teams to explore innovative solutions that combine low-code platforms with advanced AI capabilities.
- Governance and Scalability: Implement governance frameworks to ensure the security, scalability, and maintainability of low-code solutions. Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance development efficiency and capabilities. Monitor and optimize the performance of low-code applications and integrations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or 4+ years in software delivery in a large organization.
- Typically, 8 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, 6 years with a Master's degree, or 12 years without a degree. Deep practical experience in at least one major low-code development platform (preferably Automation Anywhere). Experience delivering with traditional programming languages and development frameworks.
- Strong technical coding skills, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and a background in workshop facilitation. Proficiency in low-code and API development, and experience with coding languages such as Java, JavaScript, C#, and Python.
