LCOE Expert with VBA Skills (Contractor)

Job Summary:

Momentum is seeking an experienced LCOE Expert with strong Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) skills on a short-term, contracted basis to support an upcoming project with our major utility client. This role is in anticipation of an increased workload, thereby supporting Momentum's strategic business development and project management activities. The LCOE Expert with VBA Skills (Contractor) will collaborate with Momentum’s Product Delivery team to achieve Momentum’s clients’ critical goals. General List of Responsibilities (Specific Scope to be Defined Subsequently):

  • Collaborate with the client to understand their specific needs and update their existing LCOE model built in Excel using VBA.
  • Scope and execute updates to the LCOE model based on client feedback and technical requirements.
  • Build a standalone rate engine tool that will provide outputs for the LCOE model (no direct integration required).
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and streamline VBA code for performance and reliability.
  • Work closely with internal and client teams to ensure accurate and timely project delivery.

Duration of the Contract:

  • Varies based on the specific assignments of each contract.

Requirements

Desired Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven experience working with LCOE models for energy projects (solar, wind, natural gas, etc.).
  • Proficiency in VBA programming within Microsoft Excel, with demonstrated experience developing, maintaining, and updating complex models.
  • Familiarity with energy economics, financial modeling, or similar quantitative fields.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a project-based environment.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills supporting the development and roll-out of unique, new services offered by Momentum.
  • Flexible performer guided by insight and experience; can see nuance and critical aspects of situations; requires limited oversight and consultation to be successful.

 

Desired Education and Experience:

  • Previous experience working with utility companies.
  • Experience with other energy-related financial models beyond LCOE.
  • Understanding of energy pricing, rate engines, and other related energy cost models.
  • 4+ years of professional working experience in sustainability/clean tech.
  • Subject matter expertise in one of our primary areas of consulting.

Benefits

Compensation:

  • $120.00~$180.00 per hour, depending on experiences and project assignments.
