ICF is seeking highly qualified candidates to serve as Knowledge Management Specialists to work on a national technical assistance project. The purpose of this project is to provide legal services for Unaccompanied Children post-release from Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) care and custody and to expand the legal community’s skills and capacity to provide immigration legal support. The Knowledge Management Specialist will use his/her expertise to identify, capture, and promote best practices to inform and infuse into all training, service, and communication. 

The Knowledge Management Specialist will work closely with and under the oversight of the Training and Technical Assistance Manager to execute essential strategies for training legal services providers and have broad knowledge of refugee services. In this role you will have an ability to research and capture promising and best practices in refugee legal services. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge Management responsibilities include:
  • Develop strategies and workflows for identifying, capturing, and promoting promising and best practices.
  • Support the development of training webinars, learning experiences, and other products as part of the annual training plan.
  • Work collaboratively across the project team to identify best practices using a variety of qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Document best-practice findings and work with the project team to inform all aspects of the project’s work in a CQI framework. 
  • Design and facilitate opportunities for peer-to-peer sharing including webinars, a Teams site structure, and mentoring.
  • Design peer sharing site for maximum usability.
  • Apply taxonomy to content and materials on the peer sharing site.
  • Troubleshoot problems with accessing the peer sharing site.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, behavioral health; public health or other human services field.
  • Understanding of migrant/refugee issues, particularly related to UC and sponsor families and legal needs related to immigration status.
  • 3+ years of knowledge management or training development experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly with frontline and supervisory staff.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in knowledge management and training content development.
  • Education and/or experience in the application of race equity, diversity, and inclusion of social justice strategies in human service settings.
  • Working knowledge of the refugee, immigrant, and asylee challenges. 
  • Experience working for a refugee program.
