Job Description

The K12 Esports League Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting and promoting national-level esports student activities. This position is responsible for operational and marketing tasks that facilitate virtual socialization and connection among students. Key responsibilities include implementing socialization and retention strategies, organizing esports events and activities, conducting coach trainings, and managing national league matches and tournaments to ensure their successful execution.

  • Plan, organize, promote, and implement K12 Esports offerings;
  • Maintain lines of communication with school Points of Contact (PoCs);
  • Develop partnerships and other opportunities to grow esports and gaming offerings;
  • Manage vendors related to esports and gaming;
  • Moderate the K12 Coaches Discord server, addressing questions from coaches and PoCs, and assisting with match operations on match days;
  • Develop, maintain, and oversee competitive rule sets for all leagues and tournaments;
  • Facilitate prize fulfillment and maintain all necessary records for tracking purposes;
  • Assist with maintaining and updating event call sheets, event checklists, and other event logistics;
  • Ensure compliance with institutional and esports organizational policies and procedures;
  • Complete reports on competition progress and completion to the league commissioner and other required departments;
  • Research and develop new competitive experiences in the esports area;
  • Oversee online challenges and competitions, evaluating submissions;
  • Maintain records for tournaments and esports events, including registered users, attendance, match winners, prize winners, and payouts and report out on a weekly basis or as requested;
  • Create and distribute communication materials within schools and on social media platforms;
  • Monitor and manage online conversations within the community on socialization platforms;
  • Represent K12 Esports by presenting opportunities to students and fostering socialization;
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote the K12 Esports League and its events;
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional content, including but not limited to; social media posts, newsletters, and press releases;
  • Any other duties as assigned;

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:   

  • Three (3) years of successful experience in esports and gaming industry
  • Ability to work nights and on some weekends.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and a cordial manner
  • Must have access to consistent strong Wi-Fi to work remotely
  • Candidates should have experience and knowledge in the gaming industry
  • Must have a good understanding of tournament bracketing and rules for some competitive titles
  • Must have a solid understanding of the management of equipment, tournaments, and esports programs
  • Proficient in online gaming platforms and Discord
  • In addition to knowledge of different games, candidate must have knowledge of Twitch or other streaming platforms
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

  • An ability to support and guide adults as well as students
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organization and time-management skills
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time
  • Ability to clear required background check

Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range. 

  • We anticipate this position will pay $15.07- $29.28 per hour. This salary is not guaranteed, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions.
