Position Overview
The Jr. Project Manager serves a vitally important role in our organization and helps drive the success of our academics, operations, and administrative teams. This position will work closely with the leadership and management of the Academic and Operations departments to ensure the success of ongoing operations and projects. This position also supports upper executives (such as the Director of Operations and Academics) with team projects, takes over various responsibilities as needed, and handles day-to-day items. This position will attend and facilitate regular L10 meetings, lead complex cross-functional projects, follow up on overdue tasks, participate in discussions, capture notes to share, help lead strategic planning processes across the organization, event plan for in-person meetings (twice a year), facilitate in-person meetings and help drive our product and service delivery to the next level.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- One Number: 90% of Projects Completed on Time
- Meet weekly with managers to perform task sprints: review all upcoming assigned tasks and make updates and adjustments as needed. This includes making sure the manager is following up with all their direct reports and ensuring that there are no overdue tasks/projects.
- Meet regularly with managers and leaders in the departments to understand their annual and quarterly goals and priorities, helping to turn these into project plans.
- Codify project plans, ensuring that all project objectives are met on time and within budget, Asana tasks and subtasks have a responsible party assigned, a due date, and any description information or attachments as needed.
- Manage project scope, risks, and issues, ensuring timely resolution or escalation when necessary.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying process bottlenecks and suggesting improvements.
- Ensure quality assurance, training, and launch best practices/processes are in place for all project deliverables.
- Assist personnel in the department with functional support, technical support, and special projects as assigned.
- Strengthen the communication, trust, and team cohesiveness between the Academics and Operations teams in their assigned state.
- Coordinate culture fostering and development initiatives for the department, including virtual and in-person meetings, team-building activities, and social events to promote team belonging. This includes event and logistics planning for in-person meetings as well as attendance to help facilitate those meetings (for Operations and Academics).
- Project manage sprints to ensure trackable progress and timely follow-ups are being made on high-priority projects.

- Experience with project management software (such as Asana).
- Willing to become an expert in various software (Asana, Nectar, TravelPerk, Agilix/Bright Thinker, etc).
Education & Certification Requirements
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred. Significant experience and proven ability in a related position or industry will substitute for a four-year degree.
- PMP, PMI-ACP, or Certified ScrumMaster certification is strongly preferred but not required.
