Job Summary

The JCEAP Consultant will provide short-term, confidential support, assessment, and referral EAP services to employees and their families through telephone and/or in-person. This position involves addressing personal issues that may impact work performance, including mental health concerns, substance abuse, family problems, financial issues, and other stressors. This position involves offering immediate crisis intervention and support during critical incidents, with a 24/7 on-call requirement. Additionally, the role works a hybrid model with on-site and remote work requirements.


Essential Functions

  • Crisis Support: Provide timely support and intervention in crisis situations and the ability to respond to critical incidents, including during 2nd and 3rd shift periods, within the assigned region.
  • Counseling and Consultation:
  • Provide telephonic and/or in-person confidential counseling, consultation, and support services to employees and their families on a variety of personal and work-related issues, assessing to identify the nature of the employee's concerns and refer them to appropriate resources.
  • Conduct clinical reviews on high-risk cases
  • Provide clinical follow up and case management on urgent and emergent cases not assigned to Field Staff, including priority cases (risk of harm, child abuse, domestic violence abuse, duty to warn and substance use)
  • Provide in the moment consultation/collaboration on cases and emergency care coordination for intake clinicians
  • Provide clinical consultation to managers, supervisors and HR on any challenging workplace issues; including critical incidents and management referrals.
  • Assess for and provides appropriate clinical recommendations and referral resources for clients needing services beyond the EAP benefit or scope
  • Provide brief or problem focused interventions.
  • Team Collaboration and Training:
  • Provide aid on behalf of customer service/intake clinicians experiencing system issues and triaging of service center issues
  • Assist Training Coordinator in case and crisis management training for new hire customer service and intake clinicians
  • Demonstrate ability and willingness to work with a multi-disciplinary team, participate in staff meetings and present clinical cases to staff upon request of supervisor
  • Serve as subject matter expert on Service Center Day to day operations regarding USPS book of business for customer service and intake clinicians
  • Case Management and Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of client interactions in clinical systems and follow up as needed to ensure continuity of care and support and ensure compliance with USPS policy, regulatory standards
  • Professional Conduct:
  • Demonstrate clinical expertise in response to a variety of circumstances ranging from crisis intervention to routine business matters
  • Demonstrate a professional knowledge of mental health diagnosis and treatment modalities in an EAP context
  • Demonstrate consistency in professional demeanor in response to all calls regardless of the nature or circumstances of the call
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the range of mental health and EAP benefits provided and coordinates care with community treatment resources, mental health managed care programs and community support services
  • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple tasks and software systems in a fast-paced changing environment
  • Adhere to Lucet's mission statement, core values and behaviors, Code of Ethical Business Conduct, and Compliance Program.
  • Comply with all federal and applicable state and local laws and Lucet policies and procedures regarding privacy, confidentiality, and security of health information, and other designated information.

Job Qualifications

Required

  • Master's and/or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university recognized by the corresponding professional association(s) in a clinical mental health field
  • Current state license or state certification to practice as a mental health practitioner (e.g., social worker, clinical psychologist, marriage and family counselor and professional counselor) in the state(s) where practice takes place. If such licensure/certification is not available in that state, the individual will hold appropriate certification from a recognized national certification organization or board.
  • Authority to practice at the independent level without requiring state-mandated clinical supervision.
  • 5+ years of clinical experience after receiving the graduate degree
  • Demonstrated capability to complete accurate bio-psychosocial assessments, including substance abuse assessments.
  • Specialized experience and/or training in phone counseling
  • Counselors will be knowledgeable about federal and state laws governing privacy, confidentiality, duty to warn and child and elder abuse reporting requirements
  • The clinician will be bound by the laws of confidentiality and will discuss no specific clinical information with the referring supervisor unless the client has signed an authorization to use and disclose form authorizing the disclosure of specific information
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to work hybrid model (Typically 3 days per week in office and 2 days remote) and travel to surrounding USPS locations.
  • Ability to be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days per week and respond timely to critical incidents

Preferred

  • Prior EAP experience
  • DOT Qualified SAP
  • Crisis intervention work.
  • Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP)

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed indoors in a remote, home setting or typical office environment - not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Local travel and transportation are required to surrounding areas and sites.
  • Frequent exposure to VDT screens, video calling, headphones, and computers.
  • Physical demands include constant ability to remain in a stationary position, move about inside an office or remote setting, able to communicate and exchange information with others, able to inspect information, and able to perform repetitive motion with arms and fingers.
  • Mental demands include constant ability to interpret data, problem solve, make decisions, and organize and plan.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The starting salary that Lucet reasonably expects to pay for this position ranges from $60,000 - $92,000 annually, depending on circumstances including an applicant's skills, education/degrees, certifications, prior experience, market data, and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of Lucet's incentive plan based on both company performance and individual performance.

This position is a federally contracted position with the United States Postal Service. which has specific requirements for all candidates which include:

  • The ability to pass a 10-panel drug screen prior to their date of hire.
  • The ability to undergo a Public Trust background investigation and receive a favorable adjudication.
  • US Citizenship for at least 5 years.
