The NISC IV Training Group (NTG) within the Leidos is looking for a highly motivated individual with strong experience in administration and configuration of Jira. The individual will join our team to support the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Commercial Space Transportation (AST) in Washington, DC. The role involves overseeing day-to-day administrative tasks for AST Jira projects, including project configuration, user account management, workflow optimization, script automation, conducting end-user training, and providing technical support as necessary.

NOTE: This position is remote. However, the candidate must be local to the DMV area and available for in-office meetings as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day administrative tasks for AST Jira projects within the Agency’s instance of Jira managed through Information &Technology Services (AIT).  This includes configuring projects, submitting service requests to AIT, and tracking them to closure.

  • Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts as directed.

  • Help with manager permission and access levels. 

  • Create and organize the new Jira projects following ASTs templates.  Consult with stakeholders to optimize AST Jira workflow designs based on the needs of applicable AST operating procedures.

  • Implement automated scripts or tools for repetitive administrator tasks, gathering of project metrics, and other needs as necessary.

  • Configure the layouts, workflows, dashboards, and components for all Jira AST projects.  Assist users with board, dashboard, or report development.

  • Support integration with third party components and plug-ins as directed.  Support plug-in compatibility and troubleshooting issues related to plug-ins.

  • Support collaborative meetings to develop scalable, efficient, and maintainable solutions using Jira.

  • Monitor current Jira software version deployed by AIT and make suggestions to AST regarding use of new software features as they become available.

  • Develop and conduct end user training on ASTs use of Jira and standard practices.

  • Maintain a library of JIRA material that is accessible to AST staff.

  • Prepare and submit the training materials to AST for review and approval.

  • Develop and maintain AST Jira documentation and processes.

  • Prepare and submit documentation of custom configurations and workflows to AST.

  • Provide technical support to AST users of JIRA related to AST’s use, functionality, permissions, or other technical problems.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 4+ years of prior relevant experience or Master’s with 2+ years of prior relevant experience, additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.

  • Proficiency and experience with AST Jira task management software.

  • Experience in system integrations testing through a full system development life cycle, including implementing test plans, test cases and test processes.

  • Demonstrated capability to proactively engage and serve end users for in maintaining IT or other software tools for their use.

  • Experience developing, delivering, and maintain training on IT related tools.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve configuration-related issues effectively.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Higher-level certifications from major Cloud Service Providers.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
