What you’ll be doing
- As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and integrity of engineering modifications within the Joint Design Office (JDO). Your ability to make informed decisions and foster collaboration will be crucial for driving project success and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. You will also be accountable for managing cross-disciplinary engineering topics and leading a team responsible for making critical technical decisions on project-related issues.
- You will lead task forces to resolve significant technical challenges impacting the project's critical path, coordinating efforts between JDO, RD, contractors, and program representatives. Managing relationships with key stakeholders, including Technical, Area, and Programme Directors, and presenting at key meetings will be a central part of your responsibilities. Strong leadership, a deep understanding of nuclear safety, and rational decision-making are essential for success in this role.
Who you are
- In this role, you will apply your strong understanding of legislative and industry standards, coupled with experience in managing technical deliverables and ensuring compliance with Nuclear Safety Cases. Your engineering expertise, supported by a qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering, will be key to identifying process improvements and ensuring project success. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential as you engage with stakeholders at all levels and connect technical efforts to the broader project context.
- You will thrive in a collaborative work environment, where your proactive approach and commitment to quality and safety are paramount. Experience with large-scale projects and regulated industries is valuable, and while nuclear experience is beneficial, it is not mandatory. A solid understanding of nuclear safety fundamentals, however, is required to excel in this position.
If this sounds like you then we’d love to hear from you!
Success is personal. It’s your journey, powered by us. Join us and we’ll help Britain achieve Net Zero, together.
