POSITION OVERVIEW:
- On this team, you will function as a senior ITS Systems Engineer, designing and deploying state-of-the-art software solutions centered around our core iNET Product (https://www.parsons.com/products/inet/) that integrate and utilize ITS assets such as: Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Dynamic Message Signs (DMS), traffic signals, communications systems, Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS), Integrated Corridor Management Systems (ICMS), Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAV), data hubs, and other advanced transportation technologies. The successful candidate will independently develop and/or supervise the development of advanced ITS designs, Special Provisions or technical procedures. This position requires occasional travel to New Jersey and New York clients/field locations.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves as a senior technical specialist within the ITS/Smart Mobility Group. Creates enhanced technical solutions to meet client and/or regulatory requirements and actively seeks improvements to work processes.
- Researches, analyzes, and organizes product information and software configuration or other technical materials relating to iNET® product.
- Train users on the iNET® software and provide on-site support as required.
- Independently work on ITS designs and specifications submittal and collaborate with other ITS design team members
- Participates in business development activities, supporting the technical aspects of the opportunity, including proposal preparation and formal client presentations
- Keeps abreast of technological developments related to area of expertise.
- Participates in one or more professional organizations (ITS related).
- May write and/or review articles written by others for publication in professional journals.
- May perform in a technical leadership role, providing technical direction to others in the production of products or services to ensure that meet established project requirements.
- Planning, tracking and scheduling deliverables often using agile process (i.e. sprint planning).
- EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Engineering Degree is required.
- 3+ years of ITS Design and/or System Integration experience is required
- Familiarity with New Jersey Dept of Transportation and Port Authority design guidelines is preferred
