Job Summary 

The Infrastructure Manager plays a crucial role in leading, strategizing, designing, building, and maintaining essential corporate server, storage, and network technologies. This position oversees a team responsible for engineering and Tier 3/4 support for advanced computing solutions, including Cloud systems, server hardware, operating systems, storage, virtualization, client email infrastructure, networking, and endpoint management and security. Collaborating with IT functional leaders, business leads, and process managers, the Infrastructure Manager identifies and delivers both client and corporate infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will address client needs while ensuring solutions align with IT standards and best practices. Additionally, this role involves managing, mentoring, and leading technical staff on various projects. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering expertise and mentorship for the design, development, implementation, operations, and sustainment of both on-prem and cloud compute and storage services that improve overall system performance and availability.
  • Lead the research, analysis, solution design, and implementation planning of solutions for the modernization of existing on-premises, cloud, and B2B network solutions.
  • Drive strategic technological innovation, demonstrating a breadth and depth of knowledge in all things related to the complex operations of compute, storage, networking, and identity management.
  • Be proficient in cybersecurity controls as it relates to infrastructure components, including various industry security controls such as NIST or CIS.
  • Collaborate with IT teams from different functions to develop, integrate IT technologies using standard methodologies and industry-standard frameworks. Offer insight and expertise on new technologies as it relates to the company and its clients.
  • Ensure flawless execution of all process improvement and support management-related activities across the IT organization by applying process improvement, organizational change strategies, communication planning, organizational readiness assessment, and partner analyses.
  • Lead a team that resolves customer technical issues, develops responses, and installs new technologies.
  • Coordinate the company's network, computer (servers), hardware, and software.
  • Manage access control and security principles for cloud compute (Azure) and other development infrastructure in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Maintain and enforce fine-grained application access controls via enterprise identity management platforms.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise 5-15 employees in various positions including systems administrators, network engineers, cloud system specialists, project leaders, and/or technical staff. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Participate as a senior member during the hiring process, working towards building a high-performing team across Information Technology.

Experience

  • 12+ years of IT work experience in product engineering, development, and support functions.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical operations leadership, infrastructure management, or a similar role.
  • 4+ years of hands-on technical experience with Microsoft 365 enterprise-level services including Teams, OneDrive for Business, Exchange Online, Entra ID, SharePoint Online & O365 Administration in implementation and operations.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of several vendor platforms including VMware, Fortinet, Cisco, Azure, Microsoft O365.
  • A proven track record of managing enterprise-level solutions to craft, build, and maintain virtual servers and VDI machines, ensuring scalable prioritization and secure computing.
  • Good experience in managing and understanding Identity and licensing services within Microsoft Office365 and Microsoft Entra.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multi-functional teams and senior management, as well as explaining IT principles to a non-technical audience.
  • Experience in IT planning and deployment of company-wide IT solutions.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, enterprise storage systems, and network protocols.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Infrastructure experience with Mergers and Acquisitions considered a plus.
  • Manage departmental finances, including budgeting, forecasting, contracts, and purchasing.
  • Strong working knowledge of information security concepts, terms, standard practices, and regulatory compliance requirements such as CMMC, DFARS/FARS, GDPR, Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), NIST 800-53, 800-171, and CIS Benchmarks, etc.

Education

  • BS Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems.

Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

  • A minimum of twelve (12) years of professional experience in a related technological field.
  • Proactive, strategic approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work together with a diverse set of internal and external collaborators, including senior leaders, business and functional representatives, and vendors/consulting partners.
  • Ability to identify project-impacting issues and work with control owners and various IT solution teams to develop and implement solutions.

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is $136,000 to $189,000.  This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.  Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
