Role Summary

The ProVeg Incubator is the world’s first and among the leading Incubator and accelerator programmes for plant-based, fermentation and cultivated food startups. Our team supports pioneering entrepreneurs to build and grow impactful food and food-tech companies, launch products and services and secure investment. As part of the International food awareness organisation ProVeg International, our mission is to reduce global animal consumption by 50% by the year 2040.

The Investment Manager (all genders) will lead the execution of the investment processes and decisions, portfolio management  and other aspects of the deal flow for the ProVeg Incubator. To succeed in this position, you should have a strong understanding of financial statements and modelling, prior relevant experience, an analytical mindset, good communication skills and be passionate about working towards building a more sustainable food system. 

Job Details

  • Reports to: Co-head of the ProVeg Incubator
  • Department: ProVeg Incubator
  • Location: Berlin (or remotely from within Germany)
  • Hours: 40h per week
  • Salary range: 36.000 € - 40.000 € gross/ annually 

Responsibilities

  • You have end-to-end ownership of investment processes, including identifying investment cases within the cohort, assessing their viability, conducting thorough due diligence, and finalising investment review documents to drive informed and successful investment decisions.
  • You lead and coordinate all scouting efforts, establish strong relationships with universities and other early-stage incubators to identify and attract the most promising startups for incubation, ensuring a robust pipeline.
  • You assist in the value creation process of portfolio companies by proactively identifying their risks, opportunities and growth.
  • You coach and support startups on goal setting, startup finance, financial modelling, business strategies, fundraising etc.
  • You engage periodically with our portfolio companies, analyse performance indicators and monitor key developments.
  • You develop the Incubator‘s partner networks (mentors, investors, partner organisations etc.) and support the ProVeg Incubator team by taking on other tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • At least 2-5 years of professional experience in financial consulting, corporate FP&A roles, venture capital, or other corporate finance roles. 
  • A degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, entrepreneurship, management or a similar background from an established university
  • Knowledge of financial statements, building financial models and high proficiency in using spreadsheets & presentations
  • Analytical thinking, structured working style and an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Mission-aligned, self-motivated, and able to direct your own work
  • Strong passion for food innovation and startup ecosystem
  • A proactive and enthusiastic team player with strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Flexibility, a willingness to learn and the ability to adapt quickly to new tasks
  • Fluency in English, German is a plus
