The primary responsibility for this position is to research, plan and conduct audits of multi-state corporations that conduct business in Virginia. The goal is to ensure that these corporations are compliant with Virginia tax laws.
The successful candidate must demonstrate professionalism, self-motivation, excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently. High-speed Internet connection (preferably not Satellite) is REQUIRED with a Download speed of 2 MB or higher and an Upload speed of 1 MB or higher. (See testing requirements under special instructions)
This position is 100% remote.
The anticipated hiring range is commensurate with experience up to $85,000.

Minimum Qualifications
Progressive work experience with Corporate Income Taxes
Extensive knowledge of and experience with accounting, auditing, state and federal corporate tax laws, rules and regulations
Computer skills and experience with Microsoft office software as well as electronic data & files
Must reside in or in the surrounding area or general vicinity of one of the areas listed above (Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco or Newark).
Must have own transportation available to travel to audits throughout the geographical coverage area.
Have a quiet, safe and private home-based work office/space (subject to inspection) with high speed Internet (not wireless) & locking file cabinet.
The ability to travel in and around the metropolitan areas where you are based and at times outside of your state or region.
Additional Considerations
Applicant has worked in the field independently and in a home-based environment with minimal supervision.
