Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Intern Program Manager to lead and oversee the development of 100+ interns each season. This individual will be responsible for executing a comprehensive internship program that identifies, attracts, and cultivates top talent in support of growing future leaders. The ideal candidate will have experience in university recruiting and relationship management, talent development, strong relationship-building skills, and a passion for mentorship. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of our firm by developing the next generation of talent.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Leadership and Development:

  • Lead the strategy, design, and execution of the intern program, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Manage the selection and hiring process for 100+ interns annually, focusing on students with high potential.
  • Develop and implement curriculum for programs, incorporating real-world, hands-on financial planning experiences.

Talent Identification and Recruitment:

  • Build strong relationships with universities and colleges in support of identifying top talent.
  • Drive recruitment efforts through job fairs, networking events, and targeted outreach.
  • Evaluate intern performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Develop pipeline of future talent that emphasizes skill and growth potential.

 

Intern Development and Engagement:

  • Ensure interns are exposed to meaningful projects and responsibilities throughout internship.
  • Implement regular check-ins to track intern progress throughout the program.
  • Maintain relationships with interns after program, ensuring Mariner remains top choice for full-time employment.
  • Lead educational sessions and workshops to enhance interns’ knowledge and skills.

Collaboration and Reporting:

  • Partner with business and recruiting to ensure program is producing high-quality talent and meeting key objectives.
  • Collaborate with intern managers to create meaningful internship assignments.
  • Provide regular reporting on the program, including retention rates, performance evaluations, and hiring potential.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, human resources, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience in managing internship programs, talent development, or recruitment, ideally within financial services.
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with universities and academic institutions.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A passion for mentoring, developing talent, and contributing to the long-term success of interns and the firm.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and engage interns.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and the ability to provide constructive feedback.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.

  • Ability for frequent travel required.

Our compensation reflects the cost of talent across multiple US geographic markets. The base pay for this position across all US geographic markets ranges from $100,000 - $140,000/year. Pay is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits.
