Overview

All who are selected to participate in CFR’s Blavatnik Internship Program and Robina Franklin Williams Internship Program receive training in the field of foreign policy and international affairs as well as skills training in writing, research, program planning and much more.

 

The Digital and Cyberspace Policy program addresses one of the most challenging issues facing the country in the twenty- first century: keeping the global internet open, secure, and resilient in the face of unprecedented threats. The team is looking for an intern to assist with research and content creation for their platforms, the Net Politics blog and the Digital Cyberspace Policy program website. 

 

CFR internships are paid, require a 14 - 18 hour commitment, and are filled on a rolling basis.

 

Please note that all internships are offered on a hybrid (half in the office, half remote) or fully remote basis. All internships are paid positions (no exceptions can be made on this). As such, all interns must have the legal right to work in the United States and be based in the United States for the duration of the internship.

The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):

  • Assist with editing content creation for the Net Politics blog and the Digital and Cyberspace Policy program website.
  • Compile and summarize cyber-related news stories for the "Cyber Week in Review" on the Net Politics blog.
  • Track cases of state-sponsored cyberattacks fir the Cyber Operations Tracker. 
  • Provide support for the other related program projects through research, writing, and analysis.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or graduate student majoring in international affairs, political science, computer science, or a related field
  • Student should have completed the equivalent of four semesters of college coursework (not including AP classes in high school) by the time they begin an internship
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent editing and research skills in cyber/digital policy
  • General multi-tasking skills, attention to detail and positive attitude
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Interest in event planning and management

Pay Rate

$17.50 per hour
