Marsh McLennan is seeking candidates for the following position based in the New York office:

The Internal Communications Associate is responsible for supporting the development of effective communication strategies that promote employee engagement, alignment, and understanding of the organization's People function’s strategies, policies, programs, and initiatives.

  • Becoming a member of the Internal Communications COE team where you will be responsible for supporting the development of effective communication strategies that promote employee engagement, alignment, and understanding of the organization's People function’s strategies, policies, programs, and initiatives.
  • You will work closely with our People Function Internal Communications Leader to develop and implement communication strategies that support the impactful delivery of the Marsh McLennan People strategy and priorities.
  • You will collaborate with People teams, senior leaders, Marketing and Communications colleagues and other stakeholders across businesses and geographies to ensure measurable delivery and impact of communications, consistent messaging, and alignment with Marsh McLennan’s overall narrative.

We will count on you to:

  • Develop communications plans and supporting assets to deliver on defined communications programs
  • Work creatively to define and utilize a range of different mediums (Video, podcast, visual, other)
  • Collaborate with People function teams and Internal Communications Leaders to execute on communication plans that effectively share periodic/cyclical HR activities (e.g., goal setting, continuous feedback, year-end, performance and rewards, colleague engagement) as well as bespoke/targeted programs (e.g., voluntary leave of absence, “work from anywhere”)
  • Work closely with the DEI team, senior leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure that all internal communications related to DEI are consistent, timely, and relevant to the needs of the organization.
  • Track and measure the effectiveness of HR communication initiatives, gathering feedback and insights to continuously improve strategies and messaging.
  • Collaborate with internal communications leaders at the business and region levels to define and operationalize local measurement and reporting approach.

What you need to have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism or Communications is preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in HR communications, internal communications, or related roles

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing communication strategies and plans.
  • Proficiency in utilizing various communication mediums and platforms, including digital channels, social media, and multimedia content creation.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results within deadlines.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools and data-driven decision-making.
  • Highly effective with using data and storytelling to communicate a vision and a strategy
  • A demonstrated ability to convey complex information in clear and understandable formats to a wide range of audiences with differing levels of understanding

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $77,500 to $154,900.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
