The HealthEquity Intern program aims to provide accomplished students the opportunity to develop their skills while supporting the Company’s strategic objectives. Candidates are able to gain real-world experience applying their classroom learnings in a dynamic business environment. They receive coaching and mentoring from an experienced people leader who directs their work and helps ensure their success. HealthEquity interns get the opportunity to sit down with HealthEquity leadership and guest speakers. This speaker series includes our CEO Scott Cutler, our Founder Steve Neeleman, and leaders with expertise in finance, wellbeing, and recruiting.

 

A Technical Writer is responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining documentation that communicates complex and technical information clearly and effectively to various audiences. This role involves collaborating with subject matter experts, engineers, developers, and other stakeholders to produce high-quality technical documentation that supports the understanding, usage, and maintenance of products, services, or processes.

 

What you’ll be doing 

  • Document Creation: Develop clear, concise, and accurate technical documents such as user manuals, guides, specifications, tutorials, and online help documentation.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive research and gather information from various sources to understand complex technical concepts and processes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, developers, product managers, and other stakeholders, to obtain necessary information and ensure accuracy in technical content.
  • Content Organization: Structure and organize information effectively to present it in an easily understandable format, employing appropriate formatting, visuals, and diagrams.
  • Content Maintenance: Update and maintain existing documentation to reflect product changes, enhancements, or updates.
  • Quality Assurance: Review and edit documentation for clarity, consistency, accuracy, and adherence to style guidelines.
  • User Experience (UX) Focus: Ensure that technical documentation is user-friendly, accessible, and meets the needs of the target audience.
  • Documentation Tools and Technologies: Utilize various tools and software, such as documentation management systems, version control systems, and authoring tools (e.g., Markdown, XML, Adobe FrameMaker) to create and manage documentation efficiently.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices, new technologies, and emerging trends in technical communication to enhance documentation processes.

What you will need to be successful

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a technical writer or similar role, demonstrating the ability to create technical documentation for complex systems or products.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with excellent command of grammar, punctuation, and style.
  • Ability to comprehend and explain technical information in a clear and concise manner for diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in using documentation tools and software.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and software development processes is a plus.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

**Our program begins May 19th, 2025 and runs through August 8th, 2025.

Salary Range

$24 per hour

Benefits & Perks

This is a remote intern opportunity. The rate of pay is $22-$24 per hour and is eligible to receive an internet stipend.
