That means helping injured workers return to a productive life, empowering businesses to thrive, and giving back to our communities.We are seeking a motivated Fall intern with a desire to grow their knowledge of workers’ compensation insurance fraud investigations from multiple perspectives in a broad-based internship. You will work closely with Texas Mutual’s highly regarded Special Investigations Department.
Through various assignments with each unit of the Special Investigations Department (Healthcare Fraud and Abuse, Claimant Fraud, and Premium Fraud), you will obtain a general understanding of the different types of workers’ compensation fraud investigated, how fraud is identified and investigated, and learn about the department’s partnership with underwriting, premium audit, and claims teams.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
Essential job functions:
Complete tasks and projects as assigned by the division.
Effectively follow instructions and meet deadlines as requested by the division.
Participate in division meetings and trainings, as required.
Gain an understanding of the workers’ compensation insurance industry.
The ideal candidate must:
Be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree (criminal justice or accounting preferred).
Be available to intern approximately 16-20 hours a week primarily in person at Texas Mutual’s Austin office during the Fall 2025 semester.
Have an interest in learning worker's compensation insurance and how the three types of fraud are investigated.
Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
This position will pay $23.50 an hour.
