To assist in executing marketing communications programs and projects by performing a variety of clerical and support duties within the marketing area, including marketing research, conference and event preparation, social media support, and helping support the day-to-day turnaround of creative work and ensuring it is produced on time.

- Learn about Nelnet’s business, product/service offering, markets and competition.

- Attend team and/or stakeholder meetings as determined appropriate by supervisor.

- Prepare internal and external marketing reports and meeting notes as directed by the marketing strategy team.

- Assist in the development of creative and project briefs as facilitated by the marketing manager or marketing specialist.

- Minor project management and team backup as directed by supervisor; i.e. support monitoring of progress of jobs by working with Traffic to track, monitor and guide all jobs for their assigned business. - Proof/review all work from the creative team prior to stakeholder approval for grammatical, technical and visual accuracy, and overall brand consistency.

- Assists marketing manager or marketing specialist in compiling information, secondary research and/or other data for various projects and campaigns.

- Other duties or special projects as may be assigned.

EDUCATION: Working toward a 4-year degree in marketing or related field.  

EXPERIENCE: Prior internships ideal  

COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES: Dedicated interest in marketing, detail-oriented, good at building team relationships, organized, good at multi-tasking, quick to learn and work independently, good oral and written communication, ability to follow directions, PC skills (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Compensation range for this position is $13-$16 per hour depending on experience.
