About Technical Operations
BioMarin’s Technical Operations group is responsible for creating our drugs for use in clinical trials and for scaling production of those drugs for the commercial market. These engineers, technicians, scientists and support staff build and maintain BioMarin’s cutting-edge manufacturing processes and sites, provide quality assurance and quality control to ensure we meet regulatory standards, and procure the needed goods and services to support manufacturing and coordinating the worldwide movement of our drugs to patients. SUMMARY: The BioMarin Summer Internship Program will enable students to gain valuable experience and knowledge of the processes and systems within BioMarin, while gaining an insight into the pharmaceutical/biotech industry. Over the course of 10 - 12 weeks our interns gain industry experience while working alongside our talented team on meaningful projects. This role reports into Sales and Operations Planning Director in Global Supply Chain organization. This department works in a multi-site production environment and plays a key role in interfacing with BioMarin’s Commercial team for Forecasting and Demand Management. The purpose of this department is to improve the processes, systems, tools and capabilities within the organization pertaining to Sales and Operations Planning, Demand Planning & Scenario Planning. This department is instrumental in connecting Commercial and Operational organizations, influencing with relationship, data, and facts to drive business decisions that best balance service, cost and cash. S&OP Playbook update JOB DESCRIPTION/PROJECT: This role supports Global Planning, role will be collaborating with Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and SAP team in up-revving S&OP Playbook to reflect the most recent changes, including both Commercial and Clinical. This role is a high profile one that has direct interaction with both Commercial and Operational organizations and work performed in this role is instrumental in further maturing our overall S&OP process and effectiveness.

- Lead the development of S&OP playbook revision.
- Responsible for gaining business practices updates since introduction of Rev 1 S&OP playbook; conducting interview and information gathering sessions to deep dive areas that require refresh
- Collaborate with Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and SAP team in updating S&OP Playbook to capture most recent changes
- Prepare, present, and analyze Rev 2 Playbook with relevant stakeholders
- Partner with BioMarin training specialist to assign appropriate training courses to individual functions/ groups via Compliance Wire
- Support in driving leadership planning awareness, training and change management.

- Undergraduate student in their 3rd or 4th year or Master’s candidate, majoring in supply chain with industrial design background or relevant experiences
- Must be available to work full time, 40 hours a week.
- Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. based university or college and enrolled in the fall term after the completion of the internship OR have graduated within 1 year of the start of the program
- Must be able to relocate if necessary and work at the designated site for the duration of the internship for on-site, hybrid roles. Some positions will be open to remote interns, but employee must be within United States boarders.
