Job Summary: 

At IGS, an Instrumentation and Controls Technician is responsible for performing a wide variety of activities associated with the safe and efficient construction and continued operation of IGS Biogas facilities. This is a unique role where you can leverage a wide array of electrical skills, working with a small high-performance, nimble team that specializes primarily in building and operating Biogas facilities at farms in Ohio and Indiana.  The position is responsible for and requires the necessary skills to test, calibrate, and repair various types of equipment including, but not limited to, electric motors, manure and gas flow meters, gas analyzers, temperature transmitters, pressure transmitters, level transducers, and various other types of transmitters. The ideal candidate for this position will live within 30 minutes of Convoy , OH.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair minor control system problems including control wiring and electrical control devices.

  • Perform basic troubleshooting of existing PLC and HMI programs and works with the other team members to solve technical challenges.

  • Responsible for communicating, requesting, and applying Lock-Out-Tag-Out to equipment for repair and or maintenance.

  • Assist in developing solutions related to construction and/or operation challenges that may be presented on site.

  • Willingness to learn new skills and abilities, methods and techniques to assist in overall operation of Biogas facilities.

  • Adhere to safety regulations and procedures.

  • Other tasks in support of IGS business as needed.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Physical requirements include the possibility of standing for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing and routinely lifting heavy items.  Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, gas monitors, etc.).

Work Schedule:

This position offers a regular scheduled Monday to Friday work week, with an 8-hour day shift. Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with the possibility of weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, workload and plant conditions. "On call" status will periodically be required.  The ideal candidate for this position will live within 30 minutes of Convoy , OH.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree in a related field, such as electronics, electrical engineering technology or related experience.  In lieu of an associate’s degree, 5+ years of experience in electrical equipment maintenance on compressors, pumps, motors, valves, and instrumentation.

  • 2+ years of experience in the electrical trades with a focus on low voltage instrumentation, SCADA systems, PLCs and HMIs.  PLC programming experience would be a plus.

  • Strong understanding of 24VDC – 480VAC systems.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.

  • Must be skilled in the use of hand and power tools required to perform the job, such as volt-ohm meters, ammeters, etc.

  • Must be able to work from blueprints, drawings, process and instrumentation diagrams, process flow diagrams.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.

  • Applicant must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Salary Range:

$64,710.00 - $103,540.00

*This range reflects base pay only. Incentive earnings, like commissions or bonuses, are not included.

This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company performance.
