Summary: 

The Instructional Design Intern will join OneDigital’s Learning and Development (L&D) team, reporting to a Learning Consultant. They will assist in designing and developing instructional materials and e-learning content, collaborating with members of the L&D team to improve existing courses. Responsibilities include gathering and synthesizing feedback from learners, providing recommendations for improvement in learning design, and implementing changes to courses to publish new versions. The ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in a related field, has strong communication, organizational, and design skills, and has experience using e-learning authoring tools and other multimedia creation tools.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): 

The Instructional Design Intern will work closely with the Learning Consultant and other L&D team members to carry out the following responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with the L&D team to develop engaging and interactive materials, including e-learning modules and other multimedia content, using various instructional design methodologies 

  • Host focus groups with learners to collect feedback about their course experience related to both course functionality and content, and export feedback from the Learning Management System 

  • Synthesize feedback from learners, SMEs, and the L&D team and document recommended enhancements 

  • Enhance existing training materials with fresh visuals, interactivity, and multimedia elements through the application of Adult Learning Theory and Instructional Design principles 

  • Test and troubleshoot eLearning modules to provide feedback on functionality, user experience, and accessibility 

  • Provide administrative support to the Learning & Development team as needed 

  • Participate in the OneDigital JUMPSTART Internship Program activities and required projects as assigned 

Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements: 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, OneNote), required 

  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or Learning Experience Platforms (LXP), required 

  • Familiarity with e-learning authoring tools and other instructional design tools (e.g., Adobe Captivate, Articulate (360, Rise, or Storyline), Adobe Creative Cloud, Camtasia, Vyond), required 

  • Proficiency in Canva, preferred 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 

  • Must be self-motivated, disciplined, and thrive in a fast-paced environment 

Education, Training, and Experience: 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Instructional Design, Learning Design, Learning Technologies, Education, Educational Technology, or a related field, required 

  • Experience with Adult Learning Theory or Instructional Design principles, preferred 

  • Experience speaking and presenting in virtual meetings (i.e., Zoom, Microsoft Teams), preferred  

The typical base pay range for this role nationwide is $18 per hour. 

Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance.
