Role Overview:

This team conducts Product Research – sometimes at the concept stage – 5 years prior to launch, other times just as products are launching, and at every stage in between. The Insights Analysts will support the day-to-day activities – managing projects (logistics, monitoring progress, document development, and administrative duties), reporting findings of studies, interviewing on HMI-related studies (i.e. Ford and NTCNA), and supporting proposal activities (finding locations for research, contacting vendors for quotes, building pricing, and having a strategic vision for being awarded the project).

Projects will include central location studies (a.k.a. “clinics” onsite at convention centers, studios, hotels, traditional focus group venues, or others) leveraging Quantitative survey techniques, Internet studies, Online Blogs, Qualitative Focus Groups, Workshops / Co-Creations, Usability Testing, and Multi-Mode (combination of the above).

Will travel on location to support research activities – often over weekends (rarely, but occasionally holidays) – but primarily in the domestic US. This could be as little as a day, but as long as 2 weeks. Often, the team works 12+ hour days when traveling, depending on the project scope.

This candidate will have superb writing skills, be a quick learner, forward thinking, and exhibit a problem-solving attitude.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; ideally business focused, with the addition of journalism, advertising, or communications
  • Strong communication skills, able to convey confidence with clients (Client facing role)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Advanced writing skills
  • Willingness to travel (including over weekends)
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Quantitative research experience preferred
  • Microsoft Suite (especially excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with SPSS, SAS, and Qualtrics are preferred but not necessary
  • Automotive industry experience is ideal but not necessary
  • English as primary language, but a second language is a plus

Preferred qualifications:

  • Proficient in Video Editing software
  • Some online/blog programming
  • Comfort with being direct – hold firm on details to make sure events are set up exactly to specs for quality of research and respondent experience
  • Organized
  • Able to coordinate Logistics (sometimes on the fly)
  • Drive, Ambition
  • Data Visualization skills
