Job Description:
Cologix is looking for a Technical Project Manager with specific experience in delivering network infrastructure and information security projects. Our next PM will have demonstrated experience with projects that involve physical and logical networking, server, storage, low voltage data cabling and information security. Preference will be given to those who have worked in data center environments either directly for data center firms or in the data center environments of their prior companies. Additional weight is given to those who also have new facility construction experience. Please note, while we may occasionally use some agile/scrum tools or approaches, extensive agile/scrum experience is not required or expected. This is not an operational team management or software development position. You will not be running scrum/agile teams.

What you do daily:

  • Break down complex business requirements into manageable tasks, document specifications, solve complex technical problems, interface with multiple teams, and deliver solutions on time and on budget.
  • Lead working sessions, guide technical staff (key), organize requirements, implement risk management measures, facilitate resolution or escalate issues.
  • As scheduled in the project, lead technical migrations during non-business hours or weekends.
  • Anticipate bottlenecks and balance business needs versus technical constraints to move projects forward.
  • Own communication for project delivery with management, vendors, customers and other stakeholders.
  • Provide accurate, timely, clear project status reports that can be easily ingested by senior management.
  • Support multiple projects with diverse context at the same time.
  • Manage risk and dependencies; communicate effectively to all stakeholders ensuring focus on business objectives.
  • Continuously assess and determine areas of opportunity for more efficient processes and workflows. Help the Program Manager and IT management improve delivery.
  • Be comfortable making decisions and setting direction.
  • Be an influential leader.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
  • Comfortable with 10-25% travel

What makes you a good fit: (Qualifications)

  • Demonstrated understanding of data center technology and information security.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills. Clear oral and written communications capability.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast paced, high-pressure environment. Someone who takes initiative and does not wait to be told what to do.
  • Ability to investigate ways to resolve issues prior to escalation – or come to management with proposed solutions if escalation is necessary.
  • High degree of organization and attention to detail.
  • Overall analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship building skills. Friendly.
  • Excellent customer service orientation. Wants to help.
  • Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Display an understanding of the nuance of priority.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Monday.com, Box, Visio, Zoom and NetSuite or other similar tools.

What is not a good fit: (Considerations)

  • If you do not have experience managing projects deploying or upgrading network hardware.
  • If you only have software development experience.
  • If your only experience is as a scrum master – this is not an scrum/agile position.
  • If your only experience is managing work from a queue or ticketing system. The position requires bringing structure and organization to unstructured tasks. This is not a routing position.
