Job Overview

Topel Forman is seeking a temporary Information Technology (IT) Technician to help during our spring IRS tax season, which is until April 15th, with the opportunity to extend the temp position and convert to full-time. As the Information Technology (IT) Support Technician, you will report to the IT Manager. You will work closely with the firm's administration, operations, and professional staff, including providing technology support to Topel Forman’s Executive and Senior leadership. In this role, you will provide technical assistance to computer users who are experiencing technology, hardware, or application problems. This role requires 3 to 4 days in our Chicago office. 

Responsibilities

  • Setup computer systems and applications for new hires and provide technology training during new hire onboarding week
  • Assist with troubleshooting of applications, email, systems, and computer set-up
  • Provides training to new users on all company technology matters
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, or escalates hardware and software problems proactively or as identified by users
  • Respond to system and computer issues via an email ticketing system
  • Identifies and resolves system security issues
  • Define software, hardware, and network requirements
  • Actively participates in formal learning and development activities
  • Attends professional development and training sessions when offered
  • Works independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an IT or related related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar mid-size professional services IT helpdesk support function.
  • Understand installation, configuration, and troubleshooting processes for software, hardware, networking, and accessory equipment
  • Must be able to support Windows 11
  • Expert level in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Previous technical support role within a professional services firm and providing IT support to Executive Leadership
  • Comfortable providing IT support for a remote working environment with different time zones

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer systems, computer science, related field
  • CompTIA certifications: ITF+, A+, Network+, and Security+
  • Familiarity with tax and audit technology products such as; CCH, Engagement, Sage, and QuickBooks
  • Supporting virtual desktop users and being familiar with Azure environment
