Knowledge Requirements for Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) Role:
  • Collaborate with system stakeholders as the Cyber SME to determine security requirements, conducting ACAS scans, verifying systems comply for STIGs and SRGs
  • Develop and implement all NIST and RMF requirements and ensure that all approved controls are properly assessed and continuously monitored
  • Oversee cybersecurity testing and recording of security control compliance status during RMF Step 6
  • Developing and maintaining RMF packages, like Security Assessment Plans, Risk Assessment Report, POA&MS, and accreditation boundary diagrams
  • May be involved in cybersecurity exercises and vulnerability assessments as part of the A&A process or Annual Security Review’s
  • Track and provide POR status as required for Engineering Change Requests (ECR’s) and develop Memorandum for Record (MFR’s) as required
Years of Industry Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience

Security Clearance Requirement: Must be able to obtain and maintain Active DoD Secret Clearance

Let's talk salary. The annual salary range for this position is $120,000 and goes up to $160,000, based on what we are asking you to do, and your qualifications. We also offer a competitive benefits package and have fringe benefits offered throughout the year. The benefits have an estimated value of $21,000 annually. You will have a shiny desk at our G2 Ops office, plus the opportunity to work at a military site directly with our customers (this is a good thing!). We do allow teleworking with prior approval, but supporting the DoD, you will be required to work at a military site as well.

Still not convinced? Allow us to elaborate. For this opportunity, we are seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented Information Systems Security Engineer. This exciting position will have the chance to work on just about any aspect there is as it pertains to cybersecurity governance, risk, and compliance.
  • What does this mean to you? We are seeking expertise in Security controls analysis, risk assessments, risk mitigation analysis and contingency plan development.
  • Demonstrated background and experience in Navy RMF Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes
  • Experience with Security Vulnerability Scanning Tools and STIG Auditing and remediation (ex: Nessus, ACAS, E-Valuate STIG, SCAP)
  • Knowledgeable in CS policy development, review and/or implementation
  • Knowledgeable in System analysis, design, integration, security test and evaluation.
  • Understanding of Application Ports, Protocols, and Services.
Lastly, as we are working for the DoD, we are beholden to some requirements. The ideal candidate would already possess an active DoD Secret level clearance and Information Assurance Technical II certification like Security +. They would also have prior submarine or DoD experience. But don’t let it stop you from applying if you don’t have a clearance. We’re willing to work with the right candidate to get security clearance.
