Industrial Water Engineer (Entry-Level)

Brown and Caldwell is seeking an entry level engineer to join our Industrial Water practice. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, be highly organized, and responsive. Detailed Description:

This position will provide engineering support on a variety of industrial water and wastewater treatment planning, evaluation, and design projects.

• Support and be mentored by mid-level and senior staff in the Industrial Water practice of our Private Sector Business Unit.
• Process engineering and design involving the following: data compilation and analysis, bench and pilot wastewater studies, water/wastewater permitting, waste/wastewater treatment alternatives evaluations, conceptual design of industrial water/wastewater treatment systems, and assist in detailed design phase.
• Perform calculations in the areas of environmental, chemical, and mechanical engineering.
• Work with vendors of different technologies to evaluate technical feasibility and develop budgetary cost estimates.
• Assist in the development and preparation of technical documents including work plans, feasibility studies, O&M Manuals, and basis of design reports.
• Support the development of engineering plans, specifications, and design details.
• Perform field work on industrial wastewater troubleshooting and piloting projects.
• Conduct high-level and in-depth water and wastewater due diligence for projects, summarizing feasibility and potential risks.
• Coordinate with authorities having jurisdiction to manage the permitting, approval, and design of connections to water and wastewater utilities.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• B.S. in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Ecological, Mechanical, or Chemical) or related field required.
• Foundational knowledge of water and wastewater treatment principles
• E.I.T. certification preferred
• 0 - 2 years of experience
• Good technical skills with ability to articulate ideas and concepts both visually and contextually are essential
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Field assignments may require the ability to perform physically demanding work

Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location A: $58,000- 79,000
Location B: $64,000- 87,000

Location C: $70,000 - 95,000
