Role description:

The ICT Structured Cabling Design Consultant at Arcadis will play a pivotal role in designing technology solutions and evaluating the use of technology equipment within industry-standard design solutions.

We are seeking a well-rounded and experienced professional who is comfortable working with our stakeholders and internal teams to provide innovative ICT structured cabling designs for some of North America’s largest and most complex projects.

Role accountabilities:

  • Develop and design system designs for (ESS) Security Systems including access control, CCVT/VMS, intrusion/threat detection, panic/duress systems, audio visual systems, and structured cabling infrastructure
  • Working knowledge of Division 27 and 28 division as well as design and specification processes including familiarity with ICT/ICAT, Audio Visual, (ESS) Security Systems, and Structured Cabling Solutions
  • Develop systems design and requirements based on consultation with clients, review of building and site design, industry best practices
  • Have the experience and ability to draft design specifications of technology solutions in Division 27 & 28 formats and other divisions as required
  • Develop written system specifications and functional system narratives in Master Format specification templates
  • Develop drawings including systems line diagrams using formats including Visio, Bluebeam, CAD/Revit, and where need be, work with our Revit/CAD team to develop floor plans and elevations describing device placement
  • Assist in the development of budgetary implementation costs
  • Liaise and coordinate with internal and external design and consultant teams that will require participating in design meetings with internal teams, stakeholders and external suppliers, consultants, and vendors 
  • Visit and conduct sites and be able to conduct site reviews and develop site review reports
  • Evaluation of technology equipment available in the industry for suitability of use in design solutions

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience working on multiple projects that are large and complex which require attention to detail and innovative design solutions 
  • Familiarity and comfort in working in agile sprint-based team assignments and organizational structure
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with a solution-oriented personality 
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to have access to U.S. federal project sites as well as military project locations 
  • Industry-recognized designations It would be an asset if it included CSP, RCDD, CTS, CSP
  • 4-year industry-related degree along with Engineering/ Architectural / Construction Industry experience beneficial
  • Strong ability to communicate and build positive relationships with internal and external teams 
  • Deep technical skills for working remotely as well as designing and marking up system drawings, design reviews, and development to technical specifications 
  • Experience working with AutoCAD, Revit, Visio, Adobe, Bluebeam, MS Teams, MS Office,  Webex, Zoom, Go To Meetings, etc.

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
