IACT Engagement Advisor

Hillel International

Role Overview

Hillel International is looking for an IACT Engagement Advisor for a one-year commitment to support and mentor IACT professionals on campus, driving student engagement and impact. In this role, you will develop and execute programs that enhance Birthright recruitment and strengthen Hillel’s mission. Reporting to the Director of Operations, IACT, you will be a key member of the IACT team, playing a crucial role in building vibrant Jewish student communities. This role is for a high-performing current or former IACT with a proven track record of effectively engaging students both broadly and deeply while making a meaningful impact on campus Greek life.

IACT (Inspired, Active, Committed, Transformed) is Hillel International’s strategic initiative that leverages Birthright Israel to transform Jewish life on campus. Active on 37 campuses across the U.S. and Canada, IACT engages less-affiliated first- and second-year students by inspiring and supporting their Jewish journeys before, during, and after their Birthright experience. IACT fosters student engagement through three core pillars: Jewish learning, Israel engagement, and community service.

What You’ll Do

  • Mentor and Support IACT Professionals: Build strong relationships with campus-based IACT professionals to guide and support their success.
  • Strengthen the IACT Cohort: Foster a positive culture and sense of community among IACT professionals.
  • Collaborate with IACT National Leadership Chairs to enhance the program.
  • Oversee IACT alumni engagement efforts.

Grow Student Engagement & Birthright Participation:

  • Support student cohort experiences like Fellowship: Ambassadors for Birthright (FAB) and Greek student engagement.
  • Co-create individual work plans for IACTs to increase Birthright participation on their campus.
  • Develop a national community service program for IACTs to implement on campus.

Partner Across Hillel International Teams:

  • Work with the Center for Jewish and Israel Education & Meyerhoff Center to plan in-person IACT gatherings.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to strengthen IACT’s social media presence.
  • Support Immersive Israel Experiences to increase Birthright recruitment.
  • Coordinate with Student Engagement, Experiences, and Leadership to develop national student initiatives.

Travel (~20%) to conferences, campuses, and Israel to support program implementation.

Who We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2–5 years of experience as a high-performing IACT Coordinator on campus.
  • Proven ability to mentor, guide, and develop talent.
  • A natural connector who builds relationships with ease and is passionate about supporting Hillel professionals.
  • Deep enthusiasm for Jewish life, Israel, and Birthright.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset—adaptable, innovative, and eager to learn.
  • Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills with diverse populations.
  • Tech-savvy, with experience using video conferencing tools, Canva, and social media.
  • Positive energy, a sense of humor, and a "no task is too small" attitude.

What You’ll Receive

  • Competitive nonprofit salary: the salary range for this one-year role is $60,000-$65,000.
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, Life, AD&D, and Long Term Disability (LTD) insurance, Flexible Spending accounts, generous vacation/sick time, and parental leave.
  • Great professional development, mentoring, and skill-building opportunities.
  • Flexible work location: this position can be based at our Hillel International office in Washington, DC or can be remote.
  • This is a one-year position, offering a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on Jewish student life while growing your leadership skills.
