Job Description

Office of Information Services

OIS supports the delivery of programs to millions of recipients through the development and round-the-clock operation of automated information systems. Due to the number of end-users and technologies supported, OIS is one of the largest and most complex IT organizations within Ohio state government. What You’ll Do

You’ll get to use your Java, MVC development skills to make a difference for Ohioans by supporting all of Ohio’s Family Services Child Support web applications.

Lacking excitement in your current position?  Doing the same tasks, day in and day out, as your talents go to waste?  At Job and Family Services (JFS), you won’t be limited to the same boring routine.  You’ll be part of a small, friendly Team of FULL-STACK Java developers.  Your work will include supporting the entire software-development lifecycle, working with many tools and technologies, including: J2EE, WAS, JSF/Spring/Hibernate, Java Batch, JDBC, HTML, Javascript, JQuery, Springboot, XML, SOAP, SQL Server, Azure, GIT, Maven, Nexus, Jenkins, eLDAP, CMIS, FileNet, IIB, ACE, BAR, Splunk, Dynatrace, Veracode, and MORE!

Lacking experience in some areas of web development?  No problem.  We have a wide range of skilled developers across JFS to support any needs.  Your job also includes an annual training allowance to learn new skills, and to keep up with ever-changing technology, or get that certification you’ve been wanting.

We are looking for an experienced Java web developer with good analytical skills, who can work independently and with a Team, with good communication skills, and a desire to satisfy requirements to create an exceptional Customer experience.  This position requires little-to-no travel, and is currently 100% remote work, collaborating through Teams.  You’ll have plenty of exciting and challenging opportunities to grow as a web developer.

Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday

Travel: No regular travel expected.
