Hourly Rate/Salary Range: $55,000-65,000 per annum
Pay Frequency: Biweekly
Reports To: MPGs Director of Human Resources
Job Summary
As a Human Resources Generalist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the HR function, contributing to the overall success of our organization through effective talent management and employee engagement. This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive professional with a strong understanding of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist recruiting staff with identifying qualified candidates, coordinating interviews, and providing support during the recruitment process as needed
- Assist with pre-hire/pre-contracting processes, including reference, education & credential checks
- Assist with contingent hire/contracting processes, including creating offer letters, managing employment, contractor, & business associate agreements, verifying COVID-19 vaccination status, and conducting background checks and reviews
- Facilitate onboarding experience that promotes a positive first impression and exposure to MPG’s company culture and values
- Complete I-9s and new hire reporting to the NY State New Hire Online Report Center
- Create and distribute company email login credentials and maintain a master list of all accounts and passwords
- Assist with the coordination of orientation and distribution of resources to new hires and contractors, including establishing communication with supervisors and the assigning of company property
- Assist with regulatory compliance and monitor expiration and renewals of all employment training, including sexual harassment prevention, unconscious bias, CPR, and mandated reporter
- Assist with managing employee/contractor profiles in company’s HRIS, including managing employment classification, job and biographical data, reporting relationships/org chart, creating electronic forms, establishing onboarding checklists, and creating alerts and push notifications
- Assist with the creation and management of employee/contractor profiles in the company's payroll system, including managing W-4s, IT-2104s, W-9s, and direct deposit authorization forms
- Obtain acknowledgment of receipt and consent forms from new hires
- Assist the Director of Human Resources with any payroll and benefit-related questions or issues, including reimbursements, retirement, leaves of absence, PTO, NYSSL, PFL, disability, workers’ compensation, signing bonuses, health insurance, employment verifications, paystubs, payroll schedules, and tax forms
- Assist the Director of Human Resources with troubleshooting regarding issues with Google Workspace accounts and Paylocity system access
- Assist with resignation and termination procedures, including separation letters, benefit terminations, account deletions, exit interviews, and return of company property
- Support administrative staff with HR questions and/or issues as they arise
Compensation & Benefits
- Health & Welfare Benefits: as per plan documents
- Cell Phone Reimbursement: $20 per month reimbursement
- Retirement Eligibility: participation in 401(k) per plan documents
- Professional Reimbursements: to include annual professional affiliation, professional development, equipment/home office, and/or malpractice insurance costs up to $800 (full-time)* (*Please note: In order to receive this reimbursement, you MUST be in good standing with all HR-related documentation.)
- PTO/Paid Sick Leave: as per plan documents
- Paid Holidays: 8 Paid Holidays (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day)
Job Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree required (strong preference to be in a business, finance, or HR-related field)
- Minimum of 1 year experience in human resources or data analytics
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, including Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Forms, and Meet
- Experience with HRIS and other HR-related software.
- Prior experience with auditing, researching, troubleshooting, and reporting
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaboratively, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems such as managing files and records, designing forms, creating spreadsheets, and developing and monitoring systems and processes
- Active listening skills and ability to build rapport and professional relationships with employees
- Ability to analyze information and evaluate results
Preferred:
- SHRM-CP, or PHR certification
- Project Management experience
- Strong understanding of HR best practices, policies, and procedures
Position Conditions:
- Position works remotely
- Ideal working hours occur between 9am-5pm ET
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
