Introduction
The People and Culture Team provides a range of people related services to the staff of the House of Commons and Joint Parliamentary departments as well as Members of Parliament and their staff. Additionally, the team provides Health and Wellbeing services across the Parliamentary community.
The team work collaboratively with colleagues across the House Service to steer and track progress and to support the employee journey across the wider organisation. In doing so we will utilise and improve digital technologies and are currently implementing a new HR and Payroll system which will support organisational decision making and the delivery of successful outcomes.
The Role
Reporting to the Managing Director, People and Culture and working closely with senior stakeholders, including Commons Executive Board Members, the role helps to deliver the people strategy of the House Service and joint departments, support the Commission and its Committees, support the transformation across HR and build capability across the organisation.
The role has responsibility for recruitment; learning, performance management and careers; and organisational effectiveness. The postholder sits within the PACT senior leadership group, with a focus on developing a unified, modern, cost effective and forward-looking people function which is regarded as a trusted partner.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will be a qualified HR professional, with experience of learning and managing teams across the HR lifecycle. You will also have experience of providing visual and effective leadership.
