Opportunity 

Abt Global seeks an Equity Senior Associate in our Healthcare Practice within our Domestic Division to work on technical assistance (TA) and evaluation projects funded by HRSA and AHRQ. The selected candidate will work closely with the market leadership teams to identify areas for growth, lead capture and proposal teams, and serve as a project or task leader on evaluation and TA projects.

Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct health services research on large HRSA and AHRQ projects with limited oversight, applying an equity lens for advanced research principles, theories, and concepts and identify and develop new ones as needed. Areas of focus could include:
    • Primary care research and evaluation
    • Quality improvement
    • Advancing whole-person care by addressing behavioral and social needs
    • Advancing equity in healthcare practice for specific populations (e.g. rural populations, pregnant and parenting people, children/pediatric practice)
    • Using existing data (EHRs, HRSA data sets, etc.)
    • Providing Technical Assistance and stakeholder engagement and management
  •  Support the market team by contributing ideas, supporting strategic planning and the development of new products, operational plans/procedures, and technology solutions to grow our portfolio of work in these areas. 
  • Serve as a Technical lead in BD activities, writing competitive proposals to win new work in the areas of evaluation and TA 
  • Manage and coach early and mid-career staff 
    • Coach, review, and delegate work to early and mid-career professionals. 
    • Serve as a direct supervisor for mid-career staff
  • Communicate with leadership
    • Report to the Senior Director of Equity for Monitoring, Evaluating, Research, Learning, and Adapting (MERLA).
    • Serve as consultant to top management in long-range company planning concerning new or projected areas of technological research and advancements.
    • Actively collaborate with the Equity leadership and supporting high-quality solution development and people management.

What We Value

  • Abt has the ability to hire at two levels for this position: 
    • Senior Associate: Bachelors + 12, Masters + 10, PHD + 8 years of experience 
    • Principal Associate: Bachelors +15, Masters + 12, PHD +10 years of experience 
  • Experience designing and leading evaluation and technical assistance tasks for HRSA and AHRQ on a national scale for healthcare service delivery settings
  • Understand health care delivery 
  • Familiarity with HRSA and AHRQ programs, data sources, and clients 
  • Expertise embedding equity and inclusion lens in the work to identify disparities and support planning, decision-making, and implementation processes focused on advancing equity. 
  • Demonstrated ability to design holistic, systems-level strategies using data-informed thinking and community input.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, including ability to use plain language to communicate effectively with colleagues, Abt staff and other TA provider staff, and HRSA and/or AHRQ grantees and their constituents.  
  • Ability to work independently to take full ownership of assigned tasks, projects, and objectives; and work collaboratively at other times with a small team of TA providers and/or clients to successfully execute assignments. 
  • Creativity, flexibility, and innovation taking a client-centered approach and dedication to excellence.
  • Comfortable with telework technologies and work styles since the candidate would be working with colleagues and TA recipients located throughout the country. Site travel may be required.

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $130,000 to $185,000 for a Senior Associate and $160,000 to $215,000 for a Principal Associate and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
