The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for overseeing the administration of programs for an HR COE (Business Partners, Compensation, Benefits, Operations, Recruiting, Diversity & Worklife, LTOD, etc.) and the systems that support these programs. The position provides support to managers and employees with regards to functional programs and actively seeks opportunities to improve programs.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Administers functional programs; ensures compliance with policies and practices; educates employees, managers and HR staff; and escalates issues as needed. 
  • Collaborates with multiple functional areas within HR and managers and employees across the organization to address policy, procedure and systems questions and issues.
  • Oversees the administration of existing programs including: monitors budget, evaluates effectiveness, recommends changes, trains staff, educates employees and managers, ensures program documentation is current and assessable. 
  • Serve as member of committees and/or teams that have organization wide impact from an HR COE perspective.
  • Responsible for the administration of multiple functional COE solutions including training, systems administration, marketing materials, and other logistical duties that support key initiatives.
  • Drive project outcomes that have organizational-wide impact.
  • Partners with the HR Business Partners or COE to design or customized business solutions.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 4 years progressive Human Resources experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Education towards an advanced degree and/or HR Certifications, such as PHR/CP, is a plus.
  • Strong communication (verbal, written & listening) and interpersonal skills.
  • Technically proficient in the Organizational Development & Training discipline
  • Experience in the financial services or securities industry, a plus.
  • A work style that is proactive, flexible and organized; and a 'can-do' attitude.
  • Proven ability to work well both independently and as part of a team, and a talent for multitasking.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work in a hybrid work environment.
  • Travel as needed
  • Extended hours as needed.

In addition to location, actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s skill set, level of experience, education, and internal peer compensation comparisons.

CA: Minimum of $81,300, Maximum Salary $151,300

CO/HI/MN/VT*: Minimum Salary $70,600, Maximum Salary $126,000

IL*: Minimum Salary $77,900, Maximum Salary $138,800

Jersey City, NJ/NYC, NY: Minimum Salary $84,700, Maximum Salary $151,300

MA/WA: Minimum Salary $70,600, Maximum Salary $145,000

MD/Washington, DC: Minimum Salary $81,300, Maximum Salary $145,000

NJ State: Minimum Salary $77,900, Maximum $151,300

NY State: Minimum Salary $70,600, Maximum Salary $151,300

*Including positions performed outside the state but reporting to an office or manager in that state.

Time Off and Paid Leave*

FINRA encourages its employees to focus on their health and wellness in many ways, including through a generous time-off program of 15 days of paid time off, 5 personal days and 9 sick days, unless otherwise required by law (all pro-rated in the first year). Additionally, we are proud to support our communities by providing two volunteer service days (based on full-time schedule). Other paid leave includes military leave, jury duty leave, bereavement leave, voting and election official leave for federal, state or local primary and general elections, care of a family member leave (available after 90 days of employment); and childbirth and parental leave (available after 90 days of employment). FINRA’s Code of Conduct imposes restrictions on employees’ investments and requires financial disclosures that are uniquely related to our role as a securities regulator.
