About the role

As an HR Operations Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the HR team and ensuring seamless day-to-day HR operations. You will be responsible for handling a variety of HR processes, from employee onboarding and offboarding to maintaining our HRIS. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll drive initiatives that improve HR workflows and ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations.


This role reports to the Director of HR and base compensation for this role may land between $92,000 - $120,000. In addition to base salary, Medallion offers equity, bonus, and benefits as part of the total compensation package. Many factors are considered when determining pay including: market data, geographic location, skills, qualifications, experience, and level.


This candidate must be located in SF. Once our SF office location opens this person will be expected to travel to the office 2-3 per week.


What you'll do

  • HR Operations & Process Improvement: Maintain and improve key HR processes, including but not limited to onboarding, offboarding, employee lifecycle management, benefits administration, and HRIS management.
  • HRIS Administration: Manage and optimize our HRIS systems to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and efficiency. Provide insights on system improvements.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all HR processes comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Stay up to date on labor laws, benefits regulations, and other HR compliance areas.
  • Employee Experience: Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, processes, and systems. Help ensure a positive employee experience by facilitating smooth and efficient HR operations.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Finance and IT on system integrations and data sharing.
  • Project Management: Lead and support HR projects related to process improvements, system upgrades, or new initiatives. Ensure that HR operations are scalable to support rapid company growth.
  • Office Management: Manage day-to-day office operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient work environment by overseeing facilities, supplies and vendor relationships
  • Others duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a human resources role at an early-stage startup
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and can seamlessly juggle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Bring a high level of initiative and adaptability, able to pivot quickly in response to changing business needs.
  • Have a strong attention to detail
  • Have a growth mindset and are eager to contribute to the development and scaling of HR functions as the company expands.
  • Are highly organized, with the ability to manage complex HR systems and documentation.
