Description

In-Person Interview Date: 18 December, Birmingham

Tiro is a leading training provider for science and technology apprenticeships. We’ve been helping hungry apprentices to join ambitious businesses since 2005. At Tiro, we really believe that great apprenticeships help everyone. Because there are remarkable apprentices out there just waiting to be found, and fantastic employment opportunities waiting to be filled. But our work will never be just about getting bums on seats and pocketing our commission. In our own small way, we’re helping to change the world – finding people that are working on COVID vaccines, finding new ways for technology to help humanity and helping to tackle the big issues of the day, like climate change. We’re proud to be playing our part in making that happen, and we’re looking for more like-minded people to join team Tiro.

The Role

You’ll be accountable for the smooth and seamless running of our People Practices, ensuring they scale with our growth and run like clockwork.

You’ll build and lead a HR function that’s credible, progressive and creates an exceptional place to work.

You’ll ensure we attract, engage and develop collaborative, high-performing people managers and teams, who’re obsessed with changing lives through science and technology apprenticeships.

About you

We’re looking for an experienced HR professional and leader who THRIVES in a fast-paced, changing environment. You’ll love nothing more than using your HR prowess to shape and build a culture and workforce that enables us to deliver on our exciting and ambitious growth.

As a self-confessed HR NERD, you’ll be knowledgeable on employment and immigration law, with the ability to apply a pragmatic, commercial and progressive approach.

Being a COACH, with high emotional intelligence and listening superpowers, you’ll get a BUZZ out of developing others, not being afraid to challenge and with a knack for holding difficult conversations and giving feedback to aid self-awareness, development and high-performance.

As a true COLLABORATOR, who ‘gets’ teaming and can work at PACE – you’ll get things done, with super-awesome organization, prioritization and attention to detail.

You'll need to be able to travel to our office locations in Birmingham and Langley.

We’re always open to wildcards. But we’re not just interested in experience and qualifications, we’re looking for someone with the right attitude and aptitude to fit right in at Tiro. Someone who knows their own mind and isn’t afraid to have a strong opinion. Someone that likes to work under their own steam and doesn’t want or need to be micromanaged. Who gets a thrill from helping some of Britain’s best businesses grow. And who’s genuinely curious about the worlds of science and technology. You’ll give the role your all, be unafraid to take the odd calculated risk, and will fundamentally challenge us, because if you don’t change Tiro, you can’t succeed.

The package

We love people. The apprentices who’re brimming with potential. The business leaders who are crying out for extra help. And our fantastic team who make it all happen. And if you love people, you treat them well. You pay them what they’re worth. You coach and support them. And give them the opportunities to progress. You take a chance on people because you see something special, and you know they’re worth it. At Tiro, we’ll look after you because we’re nothing without our people. We’ll never take you for granted and we’ll make sure work’s fun and rewarding. And in turn, we’ll ask you to treat our clients and our apprentices the same way – helping to give people their first big break and enabling businesses to grow. At Tiro, we make great things happen for people. And that starts with you. You’ll receive:
  • Starting salary of £60,000 - £65,000 per annum
  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Hours of work – you can choose your own hours, providing you’re around when stakeholders need you and clock up 37.5 hours per week
  • Remote working
  • Travel requirement - Birmingham and Langley
  • Healthcare Plan
  • 5% employee / 3% employer pension contribution
  • Annual away day
  • Regular training and CPD opportunities
