About the Host Ambassador position
Reporting to Program Lead, the Host Ambassador is primarily responsible for qualifying new and existing host families that meet Canada Homestays standard of care. With a relationship focused approach and a drive for sales, the Host Ambassador will grow the host community within their region. Individuals successful in this role have weekday evenings and weekend availability, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent organizational skills.
This is a permanent part-time (up to 20hrs a week) position in the Nanaimo region. It is a fully remote role with an hourly wage between $17.00-$21.00.
Key Responsibilities
Host Ambassador
- Conduct in-person interviews/visits (for new hosts) and revisits (for existing hosts) at their homes to ensure the rooms and family environment meet the required standards
- Conduct pre-screen calls and enter data into our host database
- Conduct host annual reviews
- Enter data and supporting documentation (ie. criminal record checks, host agreements, etc.) following all CHN protocols for due diligence and data integrity
- Field inquires from prospective hosts
- Support the host team in reaching monthly targets
- Build a supportive local community for host families
The successful candidate will have
- Excellent sales and interpersonal skills with the willingness and ability to promote and sell the CHN Host program
- Positive communication skills including conflict resolution
- Ability to work in a team and maintain and develop relationships with colleagues and their local community
- Working knowledge of database software products as well as online communication tools (preferably Excel, Word, Filemaker Pro, and MS Teams)
- Working knowledge of utilizing an email client or webmail
- Effective business writing skills, strong problem solving and organizational skills, including attention to detail
- Experience working with youth/students is preferred
This role requires the successful candidate to have a full drivers license with a reliable vehicle that has at least 2 million auto insurance liability coverage, a mobile phone for emergency support, a digital camera, and access to high-speed internet. They will also need to be able to pass a Criminal Record Check.
