The Opportunity


As our next Hold Point Manager, your role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless delivery of evidence required for the timely discharge of primary and secondary hold points within the HPC Pre-Operations function. This role involves managing cross-functional collaboration to secure high-quality evidence aligned with programme requirements for hold point releases.


A critical aspect of the role is ensuring the sufficiency and quality of evidence supporting the release of hold points on the HPC construction site, playing a key role in aligning operational readiness with programme milestones.

What you will be doing


The Hold Point Manager plays a crucial role in coordinating with the commissioning and Pre-Operations teams, ensuring that hold points are released efficiently and meet the required quality standards to enable construction progress. With this, your responsibilities include:

 

  • Drive the timely delivery of defined hold points, ensuring they meet high-quality standards.
  • Coordinate with multiple stakeholders across the business to secure necessary evidence, influencing senior-level stakeholders and peers outside direct authority.
  • Assess and challenge evidence across various topics, providing constructive feedback on its adequacy.
  • Balance business demands with workload to optimise hold point releases, aligning with programme timelines.
  • Mentor and coach project teams on implementing effective hold point management to support commissioning activities and the transition into operations at HPC.
  • Present and justify evidence to the Hold Point Panel, Delivery Team, and Regulators as needed, ensuring a clear and robust case for hold point release.
     

Who you are


To be successful in this role, we’re looking for you to have experience successfully delivering results within a large-scale project and a proven ability to manage delivery effectively in a matrixed organisational structure. This includes coordinating across teams, balancing competing priorities, and ensuring objectives are met efficiently in complex environments. Additional requirements also include:

 

  • Strong knowledge of UK regulatory requirements and nuclear site licence compliance. Ideally also having knowledge of the ONR Nuclear Site Licence Conditions.
  • Skilled at identifying key stakeholders and decision-makers, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outcomes across projects and within the broader EDF organisation.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management abilities, capable of building trust-based relationships across all levels of EDF Energy and the construction industry.
  • Proactive and independent, adept at anticipating issues and crafting innovative solutions to overcome unexpected challenges.
  • Proven problem-solving expertise in technical matters, with a track record of effectively addressing complex issues.
