The team

Our Hitachi iQ Infrastructure team has an opening for a Solutions Engineering Intern. You will assist in the development of Hitachi iQ infrastructure solutions using Hitachi Vantara and third-party server, switch, storage, and software. Our intern will also work with the Go-To-Market team to made the solution generally to Hitachi Vantara customers.

The role

  • Assist in design, implementation, testing, and documentation of Hitachi iQ infrastructure solutions.
  • Help develop and deliver test plans, lab reports, technical presentations, and white papers to promote Hitachi Vantara solutions.
  • Support proof-of-concept configurations and analysis to be demonstrated and presented to internal teams or customers.

What you’ll bring

  • Education:
    • Must be in college for Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant technology.
    • Require U.S. Citizen and/or Green Card Holder.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Academic coursework and project experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, generative AI, and large language models.
    • Proficiency in Linux operating systems.
    • Experience with Python or UNIX shell scripting is a plus.
    • Knowledge of server, switch, and storage hardware is a plus.
  • General Skills:
    • Strong team player with the ability to quickly adopt new technologies.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to work independently.
    • Currently pursuing a BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.

As required by the equal pay and transparency acts, the expected base salary for this position is:

  • Freshman year completed $21.00-$27.00 per hour
  • Sophomore year completed $22.00-$29.00 per hour
  • Junior year completed $24.00-$34.00 per hour
  • Senior year in session $25.00-$35.00 per hour

The expected pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi Vantara’s bonus/variable/commission pay programs, where applicable, and are subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
