About the Role
The Healthcare Communication Specialist sits within MANUAL's clinical team and is responsible for synchronous patient communications through multiple channels, including live chat, messaging, phone consultations, and educational webinars. You'll provide patients with expert guidance, support, and education throughout their treatment journey.
MANUAL launched our weight loss offering at the start of 2024. We have quickly established ourselves as one of the UK's leading providers of GLP1s for weight loss and hair loss solutions for men.
Salary: up to £40,000 per annum (pro-rata for part-time)
Location: Fully remote or hybrid
Hours: Flexible arrangements from 15 to 37.5 hours per week, with compressed hours available; weekend work is required.
What You'll Be Doing
Conduct patient consultations via live chat, messaging, and phone calls to provide support, answer questions, and address concerns.
Host and deliver educational webinars on various health topics related to our treatment areas
Use our secure Electronic Health Records System (EHR) to document all patient interactions comprehensively and confidentially.
Provide evidence-based information and guidance to patients across multiple treatment categories, including Weight Loss, Erectile Dysfunction, and Hair Loss.
Follow clinical protocols set by MANUAL's Medical team when providing advice
Identify when patients need to be escalated to prescribers or other clinical specialists.
Support patients with side effect management and lifestyle modification advic.e
Maintain complete, concise, and comprehensive patient records
Work efficiently according to the designated rota to meet patient demand
Provide feedback on communication processes and suggest improvements
Engage in regular team meetings and training sessions
Complete Patient Safety Incident (PSI) forms when appropriate
Requirements
What You'll Bring to the Role
Healthcare qualification (nursing, pharmacy technician, dietitian, or healthcare-related field)
Minimum 1 year of healthcare communication experience
Experience with telemedicine or digital healthcare delivery is desirable
Knowledge of weight management and/or men's health conditions
Experience with patient education and counseling
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Empathetic approach to patient concerns
IT literacy and ability to use multiple digital communication platforms
Ability to work independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary team

Team Structure
You will report directly to the Senior Clinician and Clinical Lead. Working as part of our multidisciplinary clinical team in a collaborative remote environment.
