Get to Know the Opportunity:
The Health Plan Lead Solutions Engineer is focused on supporting the pre-sales process, delivering compelling product demonstrations, and weaving a strong narrative that aligns with the customer’s strategic goals. You will work closely with the Account Executive plus senior-level stakeholders, translating complex technical capabilities into clear business value propositions. This includes scoping and working with the Product/Delivery teams to ensure success implementation of the defined end-end solution. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in similar capacity.
Please Note: Work location for this role is FLEXIBLE! This position allows 100% remote work from home or allows work to be performed in any of our major office locations with a hybrid schedule.
The Contributions You’ll Make:
- Act as the lead technical representative during the pre-sales process for our Enterprise/Health Plan Business, defining the scope and end-end solution, delivering product demos and managing necessary coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Deliver high-impact product demonstrations that address customer needs and align with their strategic business objectives
- Leverage your storytelling skills to craft and deliver a narrative that resonates with senior-level decision-makers and highlights Benefitfocus' unique value proposition
- Translate customer requirements into scoped solutions and work alongside technical teams to ensure successful implementations
- Work in a challenging, fast-paced environment to provide expert knowledge of our software products and implementation methodology
- Assess the need and develop the technical solutions necessary to support the effective sales enablement of channel partners
- Collaborate closely with the sales, product, customer success, and marketing teams to refine product messaging, demos, and collateral that target senior-level audiences
- Mentor and guide other Solution Consultants to improve their demo skills and ability to engage with senior decision-makers
- Travel up to 25% in support of partner engagements
- Assist in the completion of functional and technical responses for RFI/ RFP’s and develop partner capabilities to effectively respond
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Knowledge & Experience:
- Experience demonstrating complex application functionality and designing customer-specific software solutions for large enterprise deals
- 10+ years experience selling both software products and services to health plans, other enterprise organizations and/or to the group benefits space
- Experience supporting strategic partners and developing relationships.
- Knowledge of enterprise-level software technology, including server hardware, networking, web applications, electronic data exchange, and service -oriented architectures
- Strong consultative, analytical, and communication skills needed to listen to, understand, and anticipate client needs (business and IT)
- Passion for technology and for being a part of a fast-growing SaaS startup where we move quickly and wear many hats
- Flexible approach, able to operate effectively with uncertainty and change
- Driven, self-motivated, enthusiastic and with a “can do” attitude
- BS/BA degree or equivalent experience in computer software or systems. Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree preferred, or substitute degree/experience in human resources, employee benefits, or healthcare.

Compensation Pay Disclosure:
Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.
The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya may offer incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
