About the Role
The Health Care Advisor role demands extensive knowledge of health care, insurance, and employer benefits. Your empathy, insurance experience, and health care expertise are crucial for helping customers with complex issues. Responsibilities include answering inbound calls, gathering necessary information. Engaging frequently with customers and navigating the healthcare industry to resolve issues effectively.
Responsibilities
- Providing accurate information to customers regarding the Affordable Care Act (ACA)
- Identifying in-network providers or physician specialists, delay or denial of treatment
- Processing Claims or denied incorrectly. Prescription resolution / drug access or cost issues.
- Clarifying and education on general or specific benefit plans or programs
- Reviewing specific employer plan provisions pertinent to resolving customer questions or concerns
- Educating customer positively by being proficient with all employer health benefit tools and resources
- Referring customers to broader employer programs and available tools. Identifying barriers for customers attempting to access care.
- Becoming a resource and/or subject matter expert for your aligned employers
- Identifying learnings/trends and provide recommended ideas/solutions to share back with the broader customer service team.
Requirements
- 3 years relevant experience in health plan benefits or 2 year education in a health related field
- Possess In Illinois Health and Accident License and/or Life License. In Texas Life, Accident, Health & HMO License
