About This Role

As the Head of Strategic Operational Performance & Outsourcing (SOPO), you'll play a key leadership role within the Quantitative Sciences & Development Operations (QSDO) team. You will manage and develop a strategic outsourcing framework and a nimble vendor governance model to drive operational performance across QSDO. Your efforts will directly influence resource management, vendor relationships, and performance analytics, ensuring seamless alignment with the broader Development organization. This role reports to the SVP of QSDO and is integral to the success of both the QSDO and Development teams, contributing to strategic decisions and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the development and implementation of a strategic sourcing model within QSDO.

• Oversee vendor governance, managing relationships with key outsourcing partners.

• Drive performance metrics and analytics across QSDO functions.

• Manage technology platforms to support QSDO's IT strategy.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to address sourcing needs and performance improvements.

• Ensure effective communication and alignment of business performance metrics.

• Oversee budget and resource planning, including headcount management.

• Lead and mentor a team focused on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

    Qualifications

    Who You Are

    You are a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of outsourcing and operational performance. You excel in managing complex vendor relationships and are passionate about driving continuous improvement.

    Required Skills

    • 15+ years experience in R&D clinical operations, especially in vendor oversight and operational performance. In-depth understanding of strategic outsourcing models and governance thereof. 

    • Significant ability for strategic planning, ability to influence; Strong communication and collaboration required across many functions. Experienced people manager.

    • Strong project management skills and experience leading internal and external global cross-functional projects.

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including experience working with various levels of senior management.

    • Demonstrated ability to work in settings with some degree of ambiguity with high level of independence, able to successfully identify priorities and deliver results.

    Preferred Skills

    • Typically requires 15+ years’ experience in clinical development, pharmaceutical clinical operations, and/or patient focused drug development.

    • Experience in regulatory environments related to clinical operations.

    • Familiarity with external policy shaping in the pharmaceutical industry.

    The base compensation range for this role is $198,000.00-$330,000.00. Base salary is determined by a combination of factors including, but not limited to, job related years of relevant experience, internal equity, and location of the job. Additionally, this role is eligible for participation …
