Head of Schedule

Bristol, GB

Aztec West, Bristol - with flexibility of working from home, minimum 3 days a week in the office.

Travel to France will be requried.

Are you a strategic leader with a talent for scheduling and project management? Do you have a strong background in managing teams and operational processes, with a keen eye for detail and improvement? Are you someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, collaborating with multiple teams and stakeholders? If so, come and lead the HPC Central Scheduling team!

The Opportunity

EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is tasked with delivering the design for several nuclear island (NI) buildings, systems, and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project. This involves working through an integrated team, supporting HPC construction and commissioning efforts, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. As a result, a Technical Directorate is being established to oversee the engineering disciplines and technical expertise needed to successfully deliver these projects through EPR-E’s integrated teams.

As the Head of Schedule, you’ll lead the PC-HPC Central Scheduling team, overseeing scheduling activities across the entire project scope, including EDVANCE SAS and EPR-E. Based in the UK with frequent travel to France, you’ll handle both managerial and operational responsibilities to ensure seamless project execution.

Pay, benefits and culture

Alongside a salary from £65,000 to £70,000, and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include a range of benefits, from the big and formal to the small and personal.

We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.

At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.

Here, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re on an action-oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.

We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll lead the Scheduling Central team, overseeing both EDVANCE SAS and EPR-E project scopes, ensuring the team is properly staffed and managing all resource-related tasks, including recruitment and coordination with external suppliers. You’ll also be responsible for managing subcontracts for outsourced resources to maintain team efficiency.

You’ll focus on managing the Project Control Cycle (PCC) from a scheduling perspective, ensuring timely and accurate monthly updates for planning levels L2 to L4. You’ll analyse performance indicators, review, and implement new KPIs, and recommend process improvements to meet client needs. You’ll also track both internal and contractual milestones.

You’ll serve as the main point of contact for scheduling with NNB and manage P6 administrative tasks for the HPC project, including access rights, database management, and monthly baseline recovery. You’ll also oversee the monthly publication process and drive continuous process improvements to keep the project on track.

Who you are

We are seeking an individual with strong leadership and relationship-building skills, capable of effectively managing and motivating a team spread across two countries. Excellent communication and networking abilities are essential, as this role requires collaboration with multi-site teams.

You should have a solid understanding of scheduling methodologies and tools, such as Paladin and Primavera P6, along with the ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders.

Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities are essential, along with a keen attention to detail. While experience in the nuclear industry is advantageous, it is not a requirement.

If this sounds like you then we’d love to hear from you!

Closing date for applications: 1st October 2024
