About the role
The Head of Regulatory Compliance Reporting - Money Transmission License (“MTL”) will develop and oversee a robust regulatory reporting framework to ensure our compliance with MTL requirements across multiple jurisdictions. You will design, implement, build and manage Rippling’s regulatory reporting function, to ensure that our processes, frameworks and controls are maintained to the required standards. This role requires strategic leadership, a deep understanding of US MTL regulations, and close collaboration with Compliance, Legal, Finance, Data and R&D teams. Knowledge of FINTRAC, CBI or FCA regulatory requirements are a plus.
What you will do
- MTL Compliance and Reporting: Develop and enhance regulatory reporting processes to ensure best-in-class MTL compliance with a focus on ensuring timely and accurate submissions. Monitor for, and interpret changes in regulations and communicate their impact to relevant stakeholders.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify, assess, and manage compliance risks associated with MTLs. Implement monitoring mechanisms to ensure ongoing regulatory adherence and prevent compliance gaps.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Engineering, Legal and Finance teams to integrate MTL regulatory requirements into product design and operations. Act as a primary point of contact for MTL regulatory inquiries.
- Data Management and Analysis: Oversee data collection and validation for regulatory filings, driving efficiencies through automation where possible.
- Policy Development and Training: Create, document, and maintain policies and procedures related to MTL reporting. Conduct training sessions to increase awareness of MTL requirements across departments.
What you will need
- Experience: 8+ years in regulatory reporting or compliance management, with a strong emphasis on MTL requirements, preferably within fintech, payments, or financial services.
- Expertise in MTL Compliance: deep knowledge of federal and state MTL regulatory requirements and proven ability to navigate complex compliance landscapes.
- Clear Communication: strong written and verbal communication skills, able to clearly convey regulatory complexities to various stakeholders. Experience working cross-functionally to align on compliance standards and reporting processes.
- Analytical Skills: exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize regulatory data and guidelines into actionable insights.
- Project Management Skills: proven ability to implement and scale regulatory reporting frameworks, ensuring alignment with evolving business needs.

This role will receive a competitive salary + benefits + equity. The salary for US-based employees will be aligned with one of the ranges below based on location; Tier 1 - San Francisco Bay Area/New York City Metro, Tier 2 - Austin, Texas.
